			 Federal funds, and for other purposes.</official-title></form>
	<legis-body id="H3E3D6C0B6A624742A3C0D29C18293291" style="OLC">
 <section id="H4BEF6DC57E174CA2AA6D0EF9C6BDE2D1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Cut the Perks Act</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="HA1258DFA69764DC4ACD1742AA319E49A"><enum>2.</enum><header>Reimbursement for unlawful use of Federal funds by political appointees</header> <subsection id="H87DAD11C74CB42F5B1FF642C9154130E"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 30 days after the date that an Inspector General or the Government Accountability Office make a joint determination that a political appointee made a personal request for the obligation or expenditure of Federal funds in willful violation of Federal law, rule, or regulation, the political appointee shall reimburse the Government for the amount of the obligation or expenditure. For purposes of this subsection, a joint determination is deemed to have occurred if—</text>
 <paragraph id="HF9105EC8AC0B4B3DBE7D32E4D71C616E"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the Government Accountability Office issues a decision or opinion that an obligation or expenditure of Federal funds is in violation of Federal law, rule, or regulation; and</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H40C95AD73FC745B6A3A32D48ACFEAD72"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">an Inspector General finds that a political appointee made a personal request for the obligation or expenditure of Federal funds in willful violation of Federal law, rule, or regulation.</text>
 </paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H6C48B669E6DA4E668CA64A65559D7B68"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Definition of political appointee</header><text>In this section, the term <quote>political appointee</quote> means any officer or employee of the Government—</text> <paragraph id="H492E33A358414881A31C3474F1A09014"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">appointed by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate; and</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="HAE9D4CD94F8544CF9F768CEABC201781"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in a position of a confidential or policy-determining character under schedule C of subpart C of part 213 of title 5 of the Code of Federal Regulations.</text>
