			 paid or incurred in connection with the settlement of a sexual harassment
			 or sexual assault claim.</official-title></form>
	<legis-body id="HB8178459EE8D4C91A87CFE9013325139" style="OLC">
 <section id="H6BC9D514A00C469A92B86893F9C7DFB9" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Settlement Tax Deductions are Over for Predators Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>STOP Act</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="H31170062B19C4F1CB86BEEFA089FA628"><enum>2.</enum><header>Denial of deduction for sexual harassment settlements</header> <subsection id="HBC8C3A58250C4D60AB2D4EFAF5063218"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 162(f) is amended—</text>
 <paragraph id="H5D12CD932E4D4CC9811AC03387CF4F97"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">and penalties</header-in-text></quote> and all that follows through <quote>under subsection (a) for any fine</quote> and inserting the following:</text> <quoted-block display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H7B25ED8920514E3BAC38EFC385ABF6A5" style="OLC"> <text><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">, penalties, and other amounts.—</header-in-text>No deduction shall be allowed under subsection (a) for any of the following:</text><paragraph id="H6FAD159AF5AD41729BBEE87B5959C9F9"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Any fine</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>, and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </paragraph><paragraph id="H5EBCC1252B114389942CCEB4BF45B1CC"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new paragraph:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H2C7235E53F5841D5912EA943BAF2353A" style="OLC">
 <paragraph id="H0B83EF5AB675466FB1BDC5AD8F5BC3F7"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Any amount paid or incurred on account of a judgment or settlement (whether by suit or agreement and whether as lump sum or periodic payments) originating from, or to require the non-disclosure of or otherwise prevent, a claim or accusation of—</text>
 <subparagraph id="H58DEBAA1A00A422A919224794BC0D2F1"><enum>(A)</enum><text>that which would constitute an offense under <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/18/109A">chapter 109A</external-xref> of title 18, United States Code, or</text> </subparagraph><subparagraph id="HFCFB7A07A41D4E618C8C334EB8AEAA17"><enum>(B)</enum><text>sexual harassment (including unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical harassment of a sexual nature).</text>
							</subparagraph><continuation-text continuation-text-level="paragraph">The preceding sentence shall include any amount paid or incurred in connection with negotiating or
			 settling an amount described therein.</continuation-text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
 </paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HCB97F67557EC4D8C978409866A63DEE3"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendments made by this section shall apply to amounts paid or incurred after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
