			 social media accounts, and for other purposes.</official-title></form>
	<legis-body id="HBDC7D53CF5644DB9929EF20D9B9C12B4" style="OLC">
 <section id="HCAB1D2423BF64DA6B50ADC2CE34A6E28" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Communications Over Various Feeds Electronically For Engagement Act of 2017</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>COVFEFE Act of 2017</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="H781F9CE9B8384254815D32593326B66D"><enum>2.</enum><header>Requirement for preservation of social media accounts</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 2201 of title 44, United States Code, is amended—</text>
 <paragraph id="H0CBCC9897B6043B586BF73372200E4E4"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (1), by inserting <quote>social media,</quote> after <quote>films,</quote>;</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="H5D8DD16F69014EA9BDBF1FE66C71F207"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (2);</text>
 <subparagraph id="HE2F1EFC2FAE643F18B4C860EAD1E5DF5"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in subparagraph (A), by striking <quote>; but</quote> and inserting a semicolon;</text> </subparagraph><subparagraph id="H7B2BCAE641C340CCA5212E039A3315B9"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by redesignating subparagraph (B) as subparagraph (C);</text>
 </subparagraph><subparagraph id="H80DEDD30B95D4686B73696EF84E74DF0"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by inserting after subparagraph (A) the following new subparagraph:</text> <quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HF8D1537B70FF40E9B1E4BB9DD451D250" style="USC"> <subparagraph id="HFB8BA36D2FD14CE589CB906721B415BB"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">includes any personal and official social media account; but</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
 </subparagraph><subparagraph id="H73995529AD1A498393C1E39508200DDA"><enum>(D)</enum><text>in subparagraph (C), as so redesignated, by inserting after <quote>(ii) personal records</quote> the following: <quote>, except as provided for in subparagraph (B)</quote>; and</text> </subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HEB52801DBE984D1DA7D549330B0B3F6E"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new paragraph:</text>

 <paragraph id="HD98470A8CC6C4507A096573ABDD34DE8"><enum>(6)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>social media</term> means any form of electronic communication (such as a website for social networking and microblogging) through which users create an online community to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content (such as videos).</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
