			 ethics training, and for other purposes.</official-title></form>

 <section id="HE306629A7ADD44F5884A2C487AC8504B" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Ensuring Trust and Honorability In Congressional Standards Act of 2017</short-title></quote> or the <quote>ETHICS Act of 2017</quote>.</text> </section><section id="H960AB733DF0346DA9CE4953899E7815B" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Mandatory annual ethics training for Members, officers, and employees of the House of Representatives</header> <subsection id="HC6AFBC74B4C14723B8CF88981DA70EF0"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Training Program</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Committee on Ethics of the House of Representatives shall conduct ongoing ethics training and awareness programs for Members, officers, and employees of the House of Representatives.</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="H095E566CC1594065B522CD238CC934A8"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Timing for Completion of Program</header><text>During each session of Congress in which a Member, officer, or employee serves in or is employed by the House of Representatives, the Member, officer, or employee shall complete a program conducted by the Committee on Ethics under this section not later than the last day of the session, except that—</text>
 <paragraph id="H17F4CD20AA7D44ABAD86AB2F9F8B8D52"><enum>(1)</enum><text>an individual who did not serve or who was not employed in the previous session of Congress, or whose service or employment begins after the first day of the session, shall complete the program not later than 60 days after the individual’s service or employment begins; and</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H950FB52868E64E4B9831AEF02A3D8D90"><enum>(2)</enum><text>during the session of Congress in which this Act is enacted into law, each Member, officer, and employee shall complete the program not later than the last day of the session or 60 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, whichever occurs earlier.</text>
 </paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H8D6B1463172345139AC9DE3989A6B469"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Member Defined</header><text>In this Act, the term <term>Member of the House of Representatives</term> includes a Delegate or Resident Commissioner to the Congress.</text> </subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
