                                 A BILL


 
To designate the Federal building and United States courthouse located 
   at 300 Fannin Street in Shreveport, Louisiana, as the ``Tom Stagg 
            Federal Building and United States Courthouse''.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. TOM STAGG FEDERAL BUILDING AND UNITED STATES COURTHOUSE.

    (a) Findings.--Congress finds that--
            (1) the Honorable Thomas Eaton Stagg, Jr., served as judge 
        of the United States District Court for the Western District of 
        Louisiana from 1974 until his death in 2015;
            (2) Judge Stagg served as Chief Judge of the United States 
        District Court for the Western District of Louisiana from 1984 
        through 1992;
            (3) Judge Stagg served as Senior Judge of the United States 
        District Court for the Western District of Louisiana from 1992 
        through 2015;
            (4) Judge Stagg exemplified all that is respectable and 
        dignified in the judiciary and was a mentor and role model for 
        all attorneys within and beyond the Western District of 
        Louisiana; and
            (5) the naming of the Federal building and United States 
        courthouse located at 300 Fannin Street in Shreveport, 
        Louisiana, after Judge Stagg would honor his name and the 
        legacy he left to all citizens of the Western District of 
        Louisiana.
    (b) Designation.--The Federal building and United States courthouse 
located at 300 Fannin Street in Shreveport, Louisiana, shall be known 
and designated as the ``Tom Stagg Federal Building and United States 
Courthouse''.
    (c) References.--Any reference in a law, map, regulation, document, 
paper, or other record of the United States to the Federal building and 
United States courthouse referred to in subsection (b) shall be deemed 
to be a reference to the ``Tom Stagg Federal Building and United States 
Courthouse''.
