 <section id="H492C5EC98E874259993BC7E3C793D082" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Librarian of Congress Succession Modernization Act of 2015</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="HF1CFEF9CF5204997819D461EAC3F7D05"><enum>2.</enum><header>Appointment and term of service of Librarian of Congress</header> <subsection id="H6E39C201432B4ADDB75B8E376DAE721B"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The President shall appoint the Librarian of Congress, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate.</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="id3B4198C9642243DBB959231445C28B9A"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Term of Service</header><text>The Librarian of Congress shall be appointed for a term of 10 years.</text> </subsection><subsection id="HD6949CA70DEF45EC80B1A4EAA70B6E45"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Reappointment</header><text>An individual appointed to the position of Librarian of Congress, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, may be reappointed to that position in accordance with subsections (a) and (b).</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="id73F1F153850A41559CC924D6725C2F8D"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Effective Date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">This section shall apply with respect to appointments made on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
 </subsection></section><section id="HCF2DD8A437844325B15C7DAB847D13B2"><enum>3.</enum><header>Conforming Amendment</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The first paragraph under the center heading <quote><header-in-text level="appropriations-small" style="appropriations">Library of Congress</header-in-text></quote> under the center heading <quote><header-in-text level="appropriations-major" style="appropriations">Legislative</header-in-text></quote> of the Act entitled <quote>An Act Making appropriations for the legislative, executive, and judicial expenses of the Government for the fiscal year ending June thirtieth, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, and for other purposes</quote>, approved February 19, 1897 (29 Stat. 544, chapter 265; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/2/136">2 U.S.C. 136</external-xref>), is amended by striking <quote>to be appointed by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate,</quote>.</text></section></legis-body></bill>
