			 takes down, prohibits, or otherwise halts display of a flag of the United
			 States.</official-title></form>
	<legis-body id="HC87C69B7AC3541DD9A6AB9F38360D035" style="OLC">
 <section id="H8ECB9F47042C42769E88A26407709DA3" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Protect the Flag Act</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="HA77480D89A45464089782D95C75CA46E"><enum>2.</enum><header>Ineligibility for Federal funds</header> <subsection id="HF209A31ECC7346508B47772AB24340AF"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Federal funds may not be made available to an institution of higher education (as defined in section 102(a) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1002">20 U.S.C. 1002(a)</external-xref>)) that, pursuant to an official policy of the institution to prohibit the display of the flag of the United States by the institution, removes, censors, takes down, prohibits, or otherwise halts display of a flag of the United States.</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="H23D4E156F14B415DB7F7CD1746628956"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Reinstatement of eligibility</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The prohibition described in subsection (a) shall cease to apply with respect to an institution described in such subsection upon complete and proper reinstatement, by the institution in its official capacity, of the flag of the United States at any and all locations on campus property (including across multiple campuses, if applicable) from which a previously displayed flag of the United States was removed, censored, taken down, prohibited, or otherwise halted from display pursuant to an official policy of the institution to prohibit the display of the flag of the United States by the institution.</text>
