		<official-title>To amend the Safe Drinking Water Act to require
		  additional monitoring of certain contaminants, and for other
		  purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short
			 title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as
			 the <quote><short-title>Drinking Water Right to Know
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="id4753586D17054F9CAE66EB6E2F6E1363"><enum>2.</enum><header>Monitoring of
			 unregulated contaminants</header>
			<subsection id="id0C9678AB354242E587E04765896759B3"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Monitoring
			 program for certain unregulated contaminants</header><text>Section
			 1445(a)(2)(B) of the Safe Drinking Water Act (42 U.S.C. 300j–4(a)(2)(B)) is
			 amended by adding at the end the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idAFD1C8ED695046CABB9ADEBF5231876A" style="OLC">
					<clause id="id49FC94CCEED84C498FD0ADB0FBFE6EFD"><enum>(iii)</enum><header>Continued
				monitoring for detected contaminants</header>
						<subclause id="id805C186A24524770ACE230015A89A10D"><enum>(I)</enum><header>In
				general</header><text>If, as part of the monitoring program established under
				subparagraph (A), a public water system detects an unregulated contaminant
				included on the list described in clause (i), the Administrator shall by
				regulation require the public water system to continue to monitor for the
				detected contaminant for such period, at such frequency, and at such levels of
				concentration as the Administrator determines to be appropriate.</text>
						</subclause><subclause id="idE48251C6F4464AF49D3CDECC1CD4C4BC"><enum>(II)</enum><header>No effect on
				list</header><text>Continued monitoring required under subclause (I) shall not
				affect the listing of or monitoring for contaminants required under clause
				(i).</text>
						</subclause></clause><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="idC1907F39A698470D969EB4A937199368"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Occurrence data
			 base</header><text>Section 1445(g) of the Safe Drinking Water Act (42 U.S.C.
			 300j–4(g)) is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="id19FABF6FB8904B5DAC3D916B53D1403B"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph
			 (3)—</text>
					<subparagraph id="id4525F0783E594E2C886D80107FD5DFA1"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>The data shall be used</quote> and inserting the following:</text>
						<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id9AFE054C6CB844139FE727F1757782F8" style="OLC">
							<subparagraph id="id18E4496385C545C3867F46865950D786"><enum>(A)</enum><header>In
				general</header><text>The data contained in the occurrence data base—</text>
								<clause id="idC4F3B963094745828F758378346BE0BD"><enum>(i)</enum><text>may be used by
				the public; and</text>
								</clause><clause id="id17850E3E2BEC46A2BF66F8F2CE24258E"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>shall be
				used</text>
								</clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>;
				and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="id9DA90C2031754592A0CDA20685951F88"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by adding at the
			 end the following:</text>
						<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idAFBCCF0A5AF346D18DC3CCEDCE50582D" style="OLC">
							<subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id5AEE8C8F12B9412393904161238EEFB0"><enum>(B)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Evaluation of usability</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 1 year after the date of
				enactment of this subparagraph, the Administrator shall—</text>
								<clause commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idE9CD85731CBD4040883CE752AC8B72C4"><enum>(i)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">evaluate the extent to which data
				maintained in the occurrence data base under this subsection are accessible to
				and useable by the public; and</text>
								</clause><clause commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id0236886177EC4631A5B4EEB21F547DC8"><enum>(ii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">implement any recommendations of the
				Administrator for making those data more accessible to and useable by the
				public.</text>
								</clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>;
				and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="id12F3D527CF2349E9971B9E9DA97C3275"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (5),
			 by inserting <quote>and useable by</quote> after <quote>available
			 to</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body>
