		<official-title>To require the FHA to equitably treat homebuyers who have
		  repaid in full their FHA-insured mortgages, and for other
		  purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short
			 title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as
			 the <quote><short-title>Reduce Excessive Interest Payments
			 Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>REIP
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="id18025D70E590421E9A4D37B55E0C833B"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on
			 interest charges for on-time principal payments</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 203 of the National Housing Act (12
			 U.S.C. 1709) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idFC8CAD02A8834CA5885D644671FA7E80" style="OLC">
				<subsection id="idE8137046FC8142F5BF18CEE1902FC89C"><enum>(z)</enum><header>Prohibition on
				interest charges for on-time principal payments</header><text>Each mortgagee
				(or servicer) with respect to a mortgage under this section may not impose, nor
				may the Secretary require the imposition of, any interest charge on such a
				mortgage as a result of the loss of any time period provided by the mortgagee
				(or servicer) within which the mortgagor may fully repay the principal balance
				amount of the mortgage, with respect to—</text>
					<paragraph id="IDc799da2901d7497e8c28d20c11e777a9"><enum>(1)</enum><text>any days in the
				billing cycle that precedes the most recent billing cycle in which such amounts
				were repaid; or</text>
					</paragraph><paragraph id="ID6b86e1a5d18746baaace7eaf0bd857d4"><enum>(2)</enum><text>any amounts
				repaid in the current billing cycle that were repaid within such time
				period.</text>
