		<official-title display="yes">To designate the facility of the United
		  States Postal Service located at 6 Nichols Street in Westminster,
		  Massachusetts, as the <term>Lieutenant Ryan Patrick Jones Post Office
		  Building</term>.</official-title>

		<section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idE4F8E021B8D2460ABA3E2D4D702825D9" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Lieutenant Ryan Patrick Jones Post
			 Office Designation Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idF09F18A473B94A28B88E70F61CB6FF09" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Findings</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Congress finds the following:</text>
			<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id7a54e3a22dcd4519bc85a6aa422af091"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">First Lieutenant Ryan Patrick Jones
			 volunteered to serve the United States in the Army.</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id6e085d09a24c45a88390a92ffd16f8bc"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Lieutenant Jones earned his rank, the Army
			 Achievement Medal, the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, the Iraqi Freedom Medal,
			 the Combat Action Badge, and the War on Terrorism Badge through his dedication
			 to the highest ideals of the United States.</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id3724508b70af44769d7d68865f45d0fb"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Lieutenant Jones chose from a young age to
			 generously volunteer his talents to his community, and was recognized with
			 academic, social, and athletic leadership positions throughout his life.</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id2c374896f80c485d95d965a315c38e87"><enum>(4)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Lieutenant Jones committed himself to
			 excellence in all aspects of his life, including earning a Bachelor of Science
			 degree, with honors, in civil and environmental engineering.</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id488f1759910f4ee3b48cc1a8dc0eeb47"><enum>(5)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">While earning his engineering degree at
			 Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Lieutenant Jones was awarded a Reserve
			 Officers’ Training Corps scholarship.</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id4368aa5f7a5f49178ce0fb96220dafd7"><enum>(6)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Lieutenant Jones faithfully and expertly
			 led his fellow soldiers as a platoon leader in the Army’s First Infantry
			 Division while deployed to Iraq in 2007.</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id655460da87c941bda38d9f88cd7326ab"><enum>(7)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Lieutenant Jones made the ultimate
			 sacrifice for the United States on May 2, 2007, when he was killed in action by
			 an improvised explosive device set by the enemy.</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id30a879c66240470ca26cb578af659f7e"><enum>(8)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Lieutenant Jones’ life of service, courage,
			 and honor was made possible by his dedicated parents, Mr. Kevin Jones and Mrs.
			 Elaine Jones, who reside in Westminster, Massachusetts.</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idbb37619fdfb648c2968f7921176ba832"><enum>(9)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Mr. and Mrs. Jones organized the shipment
			 of supplies to soldiers serving alongside their son, thereby supporting the
			 morale of the members of the Armed Forces.</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id3ab74fb648c849bc86679258bc7f56c7"><enum>(10)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Before entering combat, Lieutenant Jones
			 made arrangements to ensure that his life insurance policy proceeds would
			 become a scholarship fund to benefit others, a request that Mr. and Mrs. Jones
			 fulfilled.</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id04b13886181b49f3b343e19b4e6c15de"><enum>(11)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Lieutenant Jones is remembered by his
			 family, his friends, and the people of the United States as a role model for
			 his fellow citizens to emulate.</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idfcb9d81fc5584ea28de976fdbcdd6bf4"><enum>(12)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Lieutenant Jones’ spirit of generosity has
			 been commemorated by organizations ranging from the Commonwealth of
			 Massachusetts to the Boston Celtics.</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id48e5ba7f9fd6419f966656c6416616bd"><enum>(13)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">It is fitting that the life of Lieutenant
			 Jones should be further memorialized for future generations by naming the post
			 office in Westminster, Massachusetts, in his honor.</text>

			 Building</header>
			<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idbed1765ddfcc4473914ae44910f8f2c7"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Designation</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The facility of the United States Postal
			 Service located at 6 Nichols Street in Westminster, Massachusetts, shall be
			 known and designated as the <term>Lieutenant Ryan Patrick Jones Post Office
			 Building</term>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id7857f94066854cd2ad8f80af169741a5"><enum>(b)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">References</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Any reference in a law, map, regulation,
			 document, paper, or other record of the United States to the facility referred
			 to in subsection (a) shall be deemed to be a reference to the <term>Lieutenant
			 Ryan Patrick Jones Post Office Building</term>.</text>
