		<official-title display="yes">To amend section 31311 of title 49, United
		  States Code, to permit States to issue commercial driver's licenses to members
		  of the Armed Forces whose duty station is located in the
		  State.</official-title>

		<section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id121279526EF8413EBFD84F27FEC6BE92" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Military Commercial Driver's License
			 Act of 2012</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id9960870a28dd476da8d7b6efe15a7021" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Domicile requirement for commercial
			 driver's license</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section
			 31311(a)(12) of title 49, United States Code, is amended to read as
			 follows:</text>

				<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ida50bd09beef641b7b410a3a63c0f7ad6"><enum>(12)</enum><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="idFE1309BFBB484BC2948CE66B339148A9"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Except as provided in subparagraphs (B) and
				(C), the State may issue a commercial driver’s license only to an individual
				who operates or will operate a commercial motor vehicle and is domiciled in the
				State.</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idC768A865DDCC4A388D350AB369325895" indent="up1"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Under regulations prescribed by the
				Secretary, the State may issue a commercial driver’s license to an individual
				who—</text>
						<clause commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idD0585C582A2C4093BCA4F6E08DC65D93"><enum>(i)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">operates or will operate a commercial motor
				vehicle; and</text>
						</clause><clause commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idF042D29C3EFA4C0C951AA431E6DEC645"><enum>(ii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">is not domiciled in a State that issues
				commercial driver’s licenses.</text>
						</clause></subparagraph><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idEAC99061F02C4C819BA0352690E2BC74" indent="up1"><enum>(C)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The State may issue a commercial driver’s
				license to an individual who—</text>
						<clause commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id8BA21486A5D64E66B26BABE1448DECA8"><enum>(i)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">operates or will operate a commercial motor
				vehicle;</text>
						</clause><clause commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idB2E90AD9FE7E4966A2EC96E58F47CEB5"><enum>(ii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">is a member of the active duty military,
				military reserves, National Guard, active duty United States Coast Guard, or
				Coast Guard Auxiliary; and</text>
						</clause><clause commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id98033AAA5FCE40A0BF8EA5FDD35A99F5"><enum>(iii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">is not domiciled in the State, but whose
				temporary or permanent duty station is located in the
				State.</text>
						</clause></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
