		<official-title>To amend the National Trails System Act to provide for
		  the study of the Western States Trail.</official-title>

		<section id="id46E9C43AC4CF4D628DEFE973721703F5" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Western States Trail Study Act of
			 2011</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="id6B3961431B55465D9C9FEC740A36800E" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Western States Trail
			 Study</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 5(c) of the
			 National Trails System Act (16 U.S.C. 1244(c)) is amended by adding at the end
			 the following:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id4EC9C80AFC1347EBABF72AD665211A38" style="OLC">
				<paragraph id="IDaf7b6c1283d94661a18f617fcb4e690e"><enum>(46)</enum><header>Western States
				Trail</header><text>The Western States Trail, a trail of approximately 100
				miles from Squaw Valley to Auburn, California (including the Tevis Cup
				Loop)—</text>
					<subparagraph id="id7DE5B1F4E5D247449034FC6BC9A1C716"><enum>(A)</enum><text>as displayed on
				the maps maintained in the office of the American River District Ranger, Tahoe
				National Forest;</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="idEB8237F83454404EB2C4F6CF4066E754"><enum>(B)</enum><text>as described in
				the journal of Professor William Brewer for August 30, 1863; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="id8CFB00ECC6FE4BBC93E35E5048AC4129"><enum>(C)</enum><text>along which are
				conducted—</text>
						<clause id="id391CBABAFBF44984BDE2BF24B5E5AD4A"><enum>(i)</enum><text>the Western
				States Trail Ride; and</text>
						</clause><clause id="id771AB457F434450BA1F4A336FA5AF3FC"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>the Western
				States Endurance
				Run.</text>
