		<official-title>To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to provide a
		  special rule for the period of admission of H–2A nonimmigrants employed as
		  sheepherders, goat herders, or dairy farmers, and for other
		  purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short
			 titles</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited
			 as the <quote><short-title>Dairy and Sheep H–2A
			 Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>DASH
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="IDd6b29d01111748fca21933ff9daf070b"><enum>2.</enum><header>Nonimmigrant
			 status for dairy workers, sheepherders, and goat herders</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 101(a)(15)(H)(ii)(a) of the
			 Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(15)(H)(ii)(a)) is amended by
			 inserting <quote>or who is coming temporarily to the United States to perform
			 agricultural labor or services as a sheepherder, goat herder, or dairy
			 worker,</quote> after <quote>of a temporary or seasonal nature,</quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="ID846e4f51bccd45eb81607a2e03e7a5fd"><enum>3.</enum><header>Special rule for
			 period of admission of H–2A nonimmigrants employed as sheepherders, goat
			 herders, or dairy workers</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 218(h) of the Immigration and
			 Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1188(h)) is amended by adding at the end of the
			 following:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idF782E67ABB2143B4BC6D42527F59EF33" style="OLC">
				<paragraph id="IDf03b803a9b214b188d6634dcb5dcab1e"><enum>(3)</enum><text>In the case of an
				alien admitted as an H–2A worker for employment as a sheepherder, goat herder,
				or dairy worker—</text>
					<subparagraph id="IDc57a914a25684f17b8a7190ec47192da"><enum>(A)</enum><text>the initial
				period of admission shall be for a period of 3 years;</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="ID8573cd5b53f340038aa891076f83b8af"><enum>(B)</enum><text>the period of
				admission may be extended for additional periods of 3 years; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="ID65eb8059f2164dbbac106696662cf4f2"><enum>(C)</enum><text>no period of
				absence from the United States may be required as a condition of approval of an
				extension under subparagraph
				(B).</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
		</section><section id="IDb58ad5a8c450450c9d4839b6a11edd2e"><enum>4.</enum><header>Provisions by
			 the Secretary of Labor</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The
			 Secretary of Labor shall issue regulations that address the specific
			 requirements for the provision of housing to sheepherders, goat herders, and
			 dairy workers.</text>
		</section><section id="ID15a8e855c7cb471584128107b9360a21"><enum>5.</enum><header>Savings
			 provision</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Nothing in section
			 218 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1188), as amended by this
			 Act, may be construed to preclude the Secretary of Labor or the Secretary of
			 Homeland Security from continuing to apply special procedures and requirements
			 to the admission and employment of aliens in occupations involving the range
			 production of livestock.</text>
