		<official-title display="yes">To treat gold and silver coins used as
		  legal tender in the same manner as United States currency for taxation
		  purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="idEBE08CE894E64E03982F6C41FFFD9FB7" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Sound Money Promotion
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="IDD7D7D1C3322244779573B27884CD93F1" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Gold and silver coins
			 that are legal tender not subject to taxation</header>
			<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id52FB940ADBCD4517AE209335E7B8B71D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>Gold and silver coins declared legal tender by the
			 Federal Government or any State government shall not be subject to
			 taxation.</text>
			</subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID74E72F0C10F243AD849B740396FB67B5"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming
			 amendment</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1(h)(5) of
			 the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is amended—</text>
				<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID11D617B52A5043D382911C909E40E70E"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking <quote>(as defined in section
			 408(m) without regard to paragraph (3) thereof)</quote> in subparagraph (A),
			 and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID95BDDC1B4FBB4A47B422B6A7A7C16005"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by adding at the end the following new
			 subparagraph:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID06D226FB8F1849B4A13A11417F9DCD77" style="OLC">
						<subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID16CD76E186B54717BDD646B2C5B7C9E8"><enum>(C)</enum><header>Collectible</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">For purposes of this paragraph, the term
				<term>collectible</term> has the meaning given such term by section 408(m),
				determined without regard to subparagraphs (A)(iii), (A)(iv), and
				(B).</text>
						</subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID84053FBF7F73400CBC016229669C8EFD"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The provisions of, and
			 amendments made by, this section shall take effect on the date of the enactment
			 of this Act.</text>
