<official-title display="yes">Amending the Rules of the House of Representatives to observe a moment of silence in the House on the first legislative day of each month for those killed or wounded in the United States engagement in Afghanistan.</official-title>

<section display-inline="yes-display-inline" section-type="undesignated-section" id="HD6513A27EAD2435D92D9DF139D7F9C74"><text>That rule XIV of the Rules of the House of Representatives is amended by adding at the end the following new clause:</text>

<rules-clause id="H3B787D299FF5469780AD97F5702FFFF9"><enum>7. </enum> 
<subsection id="H71B772E7A2814950B3A349285C7AF5EB" display-inline="yes-display-inline"><enum>(a)</enum><text>On the first legislative day of each month on which there is a record vote on any bill or joint resolution, immediately after that vote, a moment of silence shall be observed on behalf of those killed or wounded (as well as their families) in the current United States engagement in Afghanistan.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="HC93438F2FA2F4D7F99D6D7A42AFD2740"><enum>(b)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Speaker shall not delegate this responsibility to any other Member unless the Speaker is not physically in the United States Capitol, a House office building, or a Senate office building.</text></subsection></rules-clause><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section>
