		<official-title display="yes">Expressing support for designation of March
		  2011 as <quote>National Kidney Cancer and Kidney Health Awareness
		  Month</quote>.</official-title>

		<whereas><text>Whereas an estimated 58,240 people in the United States
			 were expected to be diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2010;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas an estimated 13,000 people in the United States
			 were expected to die from kidney cancer in 2010;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas kidney cancer is the eighth most common cancer in
			 the United States and kidney disease is the ninth leading cause of death in the
			 United States;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas there are 400,000 people being kept alive through
			 dialysis or kidney transplants;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas over 83,000 patients are on the waiting list for a
			 kidney transplant;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas ongoing research promises further improvements in
			 kidney cancer and kidney disease prevention, early detection, and
			 treatments;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas educating people in the United States about early
			 detection strategies for kidney cancer and kidney disease is critical to saving
			 lives; and</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas March 2011 would be an appropriate month to
			 designate as <quote>National Kidney Cancer and Kidney Health Awareness
			 Month</quote>: Now, therefore, be it</text>

	<resolution-body id="H9CE47816EC9549E0B2185D0CBA58ECF8" style="traditional">
		<section display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="HDE2E3ECAC45A4548BD1E537A73EC6BD1" section-type="undesignated-section"><enum></enum><text>That the House of
			 Representatives—</text>
			<paragraph id="H1E88A4676CF2427AA1042D8D6312E22D"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">supports the designation of <quote>National
			 Kidney Cancer and Kidney Health Awareness Month</quote>;</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HEA3A83CEE277499AA36071350724E0FD"><enum>(2)</enum><text>salutes kidney
			 cancer and kidney disease survivors in the United States and the efforts of
			 patients, survivors, volunteers, and professionals who combat kidney cancer and
			 kidney disease each day;</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HAF60EB5C69D94238A5EBAFABA3662FAE"><enum>(3)</enum><text>recognizes
			 national and community organizations for their work in promoting awareness of
			 kidney health screening and offering treatment to kidney cancer and kidney
			 disease sufferers;</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="H9075C8A72CDF41429392CE2BC8333A90"><enum>(4)</enum><text>acknowledges the
			 necessity of discovering both the causes and cures for kidney cancer and kidney
			 disease; and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HC6215369923E4E14872CFB4CE211B42F"><enum>(5)</enum><text>urges
			 organizations and health practitioners to use this opportunity to promote
			 kidney health awareness and encourage annual health physicals.</text>
