		<official-title>To direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to accept
		  certain documents as proof of service in determining the eligibility of an
		  individual to receive amounts from the Filipino Veterans Equity Compensation
		  Fund, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="H1A9810FB4C9D4DBDB47D8EEB71B4AF81" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Proof of eligibility for
			 Filipino Veterans Equity Compensation Fund</header>
			<subsection id="H04B6400D763D4CD88B8C157DEF4EA75B"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Proof</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1002 of the American Recovery and
			 Reinvestment Act of 2009 (division A of Public Law 111–5; 38 U.S.C. 107 note)
			 is amended by adding at the end the following new subsections:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H249D524C325C44FD897C9121090423DD" style="OLC">
					<subsection id="H5DE6023F3FC34172B1B5DD1B276CE729"><enum>(m)</enum><header>Proof of
				service</header>
						<paragraph id="H85E3E92A05124BA1A4EF3BDA6285E6B4"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
				general</header><text>The Secretary shall accept as proof of the service
				described in subsection (d) or (n)—</text>
							<subparagraph id="H0ACAE5FADF5E4E2C8D3D444CFB843BC0"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the name of the eligible person included on
				the Approved Revised Reconstructed Guerilla Roster (commonly known as the
				<quote>Missouri List</quote>);</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H7E45CEA1751B45E893469EF972327063"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">documents included in the claims folder of
				the eligible person that prove such service, including an affidavit from the
				government of the Philippines certifying such service (AGO Form 23); or</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph commented="no" id="HE2DDC4BAE40F4A5789D2823AEB43C8B3"><enum>(C)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">any other documents that are issued or
				accepted by the government of the Philippines as proof of such service.</text>
							</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H3BBF0585F0A243CBA675F1A5C6C3DFD8"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Source of
				documents</header><text>The Secretary may not reject a document under paragraph
				(1) solely because the document is issued by the government of the
				Philippines.</text>
						</paragraph><paragraph id="H56B925B5A87943468AFA2630E02B863F"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Government of
				the Philippines</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this
				subsection, the term <term>government of the Philippines</term> includes the
				Commonwealth of the Philippines, the Commonwealth Army of the Philippines, and
				the Republic of the Philippines.</text>
						</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H85FB865C16D74BD0800EBCEA08E029BB"><enum>(n)</enum><header>Civilian
				guerilla forces</header><text>Service as a civilian guerilla in the Philippines
				during the period described in paragraph (1) of subsection (d) shall be treated
				as service described under such subsection for purposes of a person being
				eligible for benefits under this section.</text>
					</subsection><subsection commented="no" id="H1FC3E999A50449148BB335680E163E7F"><enum>(o)</enum><header>Cooperation</header><text>The
				Secretary of the Army shall cooperate with the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in
				carrying out this
				section.</text>
					</subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="H89539301117D4A8BAED7DCECCAB248C8"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Extended
			 application period</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section
			 1002(c) of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (division A of
			 Public Law 111–5; 38 U.S.C. 107 note) is amended by adding at the end the
			 following new paragraph:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H4D45EF4981394F718E1B2CE7B6CE0A8E" style="OLC">
					<paragraph id="HB039EC42AB2C49838E5D91871657EDD5"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Extended
				application period</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding paragraph (1), the
				Secretary may make a payment from the compensation fund to an eligible person
				who, during the 180-day period beginning on the date of the enactment of this
				section, submits to the Secretary—</text>
						<subparagraph id="HE7EC4101CA364D2BB498AF8912105792"><enum>(A)</enum><text>a claim for
				benefits under this section; or</text>
						</subparagraph><subparagraph commented="no" id="H74D5AFFBAEE34BBFB7D154CA286C25E4"><enum>(B)</enum><text>with respect to a
				person who filed a claim for benefits under this section during the period
				described in paragraph (1), a new claim or an appeal to such previously filed
				claim.</text>
						</subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
