		<official-title>To amend title 49, United States Code, to permit a State
		  to issue a commercial driver’s license to a member of the Armed Forces whose
		  duty station is located in the State.</official-title>

		<section id="H7C3B5F3FAFB84C41BADAE78EED9DD443" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Military CDL Act of 2012</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HB50B35A532F34D71A8CA663F0130E440"><enum>2.</enum><header>Domicile
			 requirement for commercial driver's license</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 31311(a)(12) of title 49, United
			 States Code, is amended to read as follows:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HD87A9A2E4BBD4E06B18BDF4AA728F653" style="OLC">
				<paragraph id="H2DDB619C2D2D4027BC0FB6C8C5847C36"><enum>(12)</enum><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H1FDFC268564C4633A055DB941E2700F9"><enum>(A)</enum><text>Except as provided in
				subparagraphs (B) and (C), the State may issue a commercial driver’s license
				only to an individual who operates or will operate a commercial motor vehicle
				and is domiciled in the State.</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H84E4AC2C446849C09DE805855E7FA52F" indent="up1"><enum>(B)</enum><text>Under regulations prescribed by the
				Secretary, the State may issue a commercial driver’s license to an individual
				who—</text>
						<clause id="H154BFCCA9A584DBA84EF277D29D0783E"><enum>(i)</enum><text>operates or will operate a
				commercial motor vehicle; and</text>
						</clause><clause id="HCA6472735CB9419EBA00C83CF7D6F398"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>is not domiciled in a State that
				issues commercial driver’s licenses.</text>
						</clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HC8996EE3D5AC4BB9B3DFD241591613E8" indent="up1"><enum>(C)</enum><text>The State may issue a commercial
				driver’s license to an individual who—</text>
						<clause id="H1313870472B94C138069FBC16D97243E"><enum>(i)</enum><text>operates or will operate a
				commercial motor vehicle;</text>
						</clause><clause id="H43B6A040413E4F0FBD1C21ED759141FD"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>is a member of the active duty
				military, military reserves, National Guard, active duty United States Coast
				Guard, or Coast Guard Auxiliary; and</text>
						</clause><clause id="H3435CD57248048F7BD6FF00676957986"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>is not domiciled in the State,
				but whose temporary or permanent duty station is located in the
				State.</text>
