		<official-title>To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow
		  rehabilitation expenditures for public school buildings to qualify for
		  rehabilitation credit.</official-title>

		<section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H8F4D1D65D4E645ADBCF351466D61DAC3" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Rehabilitation of Historic Schools Act
			 of 2012</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HCD0F042867ED43DCB4C12AAA72CAA4D5" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Qualification of rehabilitation
			 expenditures for public school buildings for rehabilitation credit</header>
			<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HD758D48A8CC141978FBD6E180B21311B"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 47(c)(2)(B)(v) of the Internal
			 Revenue Code of 1986 is amended by adding at the end the following new
			 subclause:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H684E696F02C9428AAC219902571348B6" style="OLC">
					<subclause commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H3F4D5E49A3EA4DDCBA305A399F2EBB57"><enum>(III)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Clause not to apply to public
				schools</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">This clause shall not
				apply in the case of any building which is a qualified public educational
				facility (as defined in section 142(k)(1), determined without regard to
				subparagraph (B) thereof) and used as such during some period before such
				expenditure and used as such immediately after such
				expenditure.</text>
					</subclause><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H617EA44FEC80469B9AD4B1E5CEFA4D3E"><enum>(b)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Report</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than the date which is 5 years
			 after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the Treasury,
			 after consultation with the heads of appropriate Federal agencies, shall report
			 to Congress on the effects resulting from the amendment made by subsection
			 (a).</text>
			</subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HB2DDF2A904474F768503BDC9784E6572"><enum>(c)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Effective
			 date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendment made by
			 this section shall apply to property placed in service after the date of the
			 enactment of this Act.</text>
