		  Congress to accept gifts and bequests on behalf of the Library, and for other

		<section id="HF40B6A2F0F9F4B4E9876E7FE44886D68" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Authority of Librarian of
			 Congress to accept gifts and bequests</header>
			<subsection id="H8595034B0F9248B09355E24BC7F34744"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Expanding types
			 of gifts that may be accepted</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The first undesignated paragraph of section
			 4 of the Act entitled <quote>An Act to create a Library of Congress Trust Fund
			 Board, and for other purposes</quote>, approved March 3, 1925 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/2/160">2 U.S.C. 160</external-xref>), is
			 amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="H5126E58CE67D47F6AD92D507BDD7A6B6"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in the first
			 sentence, by striking <quote>in the name of the United States</quote> and all
			 that follows and inserting the following: <quote>in the name of the United
			 States and in the interest of the Library, its collections, or its service,
			 gifts or bequests of money for immediate disbursement, personal property valued
			 at $25,000 or less, nonpersonal services, or voluntary and uncompensated
			 personal services.</quote>;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H15CFBF1E5F8545EA8F6A7BBD9C0CEE3E"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in the second sentence, by inserting
			 <quote>of money</quote> after <quote>bequests</quote>; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HA4BA8609141248289D5B8604063AFFA7"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in the third
			 sentence, by striking <quote>enter them</quote> and inserting <quote>enter the
			 gift, bequest, or proceeds</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HA7CBD083312B45569B9F0DF928601308"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Treatment of
			 gifts of securities</header><text>The first undesignated paragraph of section 4
			 of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/2/160">2 U.S.C.
			 160</external-xref>) is amended by inserting after the first sentence the
			 following new sentence: <quote>In the case of a gift of securities, the
			 Librarian shall sell the gift and provide the donor with a receipt from the
			 proceeds of the sale.</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H90A03EB69B3D493EB0ADCFB2345B6A19"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Public report on
			 accepted gifts</header><text>Section 4 of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/2/160">2 U.S.C. 160</external-xref>) is
			 amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HF0F48963DD5443DC9CA5E4C427221A85"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in the first
			 sentence of the first undesignated paragraph, by striking
			 <quote>Nothing</quote> and inserting <quote>(a)
			 <header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">Acceptance and Disbursement of
			 Gifts</header-in-text>.—Nothing</quote>; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H78FB0E500BE44886817D30CFACF7F5FC"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the
			 end the following new subsection:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HCD20E473249946A99E9F4F7B81EA6C99" style="OLC">
						<subsection id="H4C721A5F990D405AABC8754FEED5A483"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Public Report on
				Accepted Gifts</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In each Annual
				Report of the Library of Congress, the Librarian of Congress shall include a
				description of each gift or bequest accepted under this section during the year
				involved which is valued at $1,000 or
				more.</text>
