		<official-title>To amend the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012
		  with respect to maintenance providers, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="HD9D3EE53219F41C1A879E20DD29DE8C7" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Airline Maintenance Safety Act of
			 2012</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H6E0C72B8E2414C6EA4D90EDB89E062B7"><enum>2.</enum><header>Maintenance
			 providers</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 319 of the
			 FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012 (Public Law 112–95) is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="HFA2EF4E15598459BB5B1B6519F3A442B"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (a)
			 by striking <quote>by persons in accordance with subsection (b)</quote> and
			 inserting <quote>in accordance with this section</quote>;</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HDC1816863DBA450D96829B03F4ABB422"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by redesignating
			 subsection (d) as subsection (e); and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HB6570D606AD5445386D9E6FF774AE32F"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by inserting after
			 subsection (c) the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H065DDBCE56B2489EA3FF546BD40F84C2" style="OLC">
					<subsection id="HAB09440FC3614798B83C5B02C713CCB8"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Further
				requirements</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">An individual,
				if authorized to approve the return to service of an aircraft or component
				thereof (as determined by the Administrator), may perform covered work outside
				the United States on aircraft used to provide air transportation under part 121
				of title 14, Code of Federal Regulations, only if the individual—</text>
						<paragraph id="H2D4E25BE34B64F0E929E3EB5D86DE0F3"><enum>(1)</enum><text>is able to read,
				write, speak, and understand the English language (as determined by the
				Administrator); and</text>
						</paragraph><paragraph id="H3DAE07E1121F4D25B724C33743166344"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">holds a certificate under subpart D of part
				65 of title 14, Code of Federal
				Regulations.</text>
