		<official-title>To amend the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 to provide
		  for an increase in the Federal minimum wage and to index future increases to
		  such wage to increases in the consumer price index.</official-title>

		<section id="HC8A97723EDB447CA995913363E0B28B9" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Catching Up To 1968 Act of
			 2012</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HC72AA7EBC14A4DB1A98F458330E3DF52"><enum>2.</enum><header>Increases in the
			 Federal minimum wage</header>
			<subsection id="H0F243DC2157F41E5A2BE6FA6B4B65D6A"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Minimum
			 wage</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 6(a)(1) of the
			 Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (29 U.S.C. 206(a)(1)) is amended by striking
			 subparagraphs (A) through (C) and inserting the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H492D974880EB4D9E82820B1903650208" style="OLC">
					<subparagraph id="H347A3272A1CA4C3BA545E5B378749849"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">$10.00 an hour, beginning 60 days after the
				date of enactment of the <short-title>Catching Up To 1968
				Act of 2012</short-title>; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H76AE1F0972B54BB5A24FED6E57E6654B"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">beginning 1 year after the wage provided
				for in subparagraph (A) takes effect and each year thereafter, the wage then in
				effect plus an increase determined by the Secretary to be in proportion to the
				increase in the Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers for the preceding
				year.</text>
					</subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="HDB665DAC174E4E2E89CEBD716FD53C1F"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Minimum wage for
			 tipped employees</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section
			 3(m)(1) of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (29 U.S.C. 203(m)(1)) is
			 amended by adding before the semicolon the following: <quote>, except that, for
			 purposes of this paragraph, beginning 60 days after the date of enactment of
			 the <short-title>Catching Up To 1968 Act of
			 2012</short-title>, the cash wage paid such employee shall be 70 percent of the
			 wage in effect under section 6(a)(1) but in no case less than $5.50 an hour,
			 adjusted annually as necessary thereafter</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H6504C37B04E74EFE99F2C29C153CED40"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Publication of
			 wages</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 6 of the Fair
			 Labor Standards Act of 1938 (29 U.S.C. 206) is further amended by adding after
			 subsection (b) the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H4A81524A25BC4774B37DF86C29BFEEA4" style="traditional">
					<subsection id="H56F2934F4E444ABF9CBBCB7536F9B099"><enum>(c)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 60 days prior to the
				effective date of any increase in the minimum wage pursuant to subsection
				(a)(1)(B) or increase in the minimum wage for tipped employees in accordance
				with section 3(m)(1), the Secretary shall publish in the Federal Register and
				on the Internet website of the Department of Labor a notice announcing the
				adjusted required wage or
				wages.</text>
					</subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="HC0EF5D93D6B345B5BAEB939D97C153A4"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendments made by
			 subsections (a) and (b) shall take effect 60 days after the date of enactment
			 of this Act.</text>
