		<official-title>To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to deny a
		  deduction for removal costs and damages for which taxpayers are liable under
		  the Oil Pollution Act of 1990.</official-title>

		<section id="H2C6EFF16F50B4CAE9ED7CB38FE5F80F1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Denial of deduction for
			 removal costs and damages for oil spills</header>
			<subsection id="HDC52622A87464E18B6731BE05D8DD5DE"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Part IX of subchapter
			 B of chapter 1 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (relating to items not
			 deductible) is amended by adding at the end the following new section:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HC4098FB54F7841329B0D1598DBF6188B" style="OLC">
					<section id="HA8A811DC6E154AD3A24081DFF28BAB9E"><enum>280I.</enum><header>Expenses for
				removal costs and damages relating to oil spill liability</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">No deduction shall be allowed under this
				chapter for any amount paid or incurred with respect to any costs or damages
				for which the taxpayer is liable under section 1002 of the Oil Pollution Act of
				1990 (33 U.S.C.
				2702).</text>

			</subsection><subsection id="HA618266CA08C4155A59554C1E8C7A7A7"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Clerical
			 amendment</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The table of
			 sections for part IX of subchapter B of chapter 1 of such Code is amended by
			 adding at the end the following new item:</text>

			 date</header><text>The amendments made by this section shall apply with respect
			 to any liability arising after December 31, 2009.</text>
