		<section id="HD7F746330F5F4CDEAA053E03D8707DAB" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Allowing Qualified Local Employees to
			 Serve Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H09BE32BD1CA3420BA031E24B5508DD20"><enum>2.</enum><header>Permitting State
			 and local employees to seek elective office</header>
			<subsection id="H9EEC727CAECC4F08AE8A87F7259DB423"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1502 of title
			 5, United States Code, is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HA4812642BE94437AA0447B442B7FF911"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection
			 (a)—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H4017542A18A6459A8D1CCC8ABF888EC9"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in paragraph (1),
			 by adding <quote>or</quote> after the semicolon;</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H01D3BDE5EF0448FC8E44476150161556"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in paragraph (2),
			 by striking <quote>purposes; or</quote> and inserting <quote>purposes.</quote>;
			 and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H7BEFA3AAB9894AEBA89E46EF0F12606C"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by striking
			 paragraph (3); and</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H9C0599048F2B46BF9156CF5223693382"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking
			 subsection (c).</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H04B63033DD68488EB737BCFF8C2B9468"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Technical and
			 conforming amendments</header>
				<paragraph id="H7285577A622A4EF490D6F430E1E7537E"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Section
			 repealed</header><text>Section 1503 of title 5, United States Code, is
			 repealed.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HC9E3F92CBD654A6EBAB98218C371F092"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Clerical
			 amendment</header><text>The item relating to section 1503, in the table of
			 sections for chapter 15 of title 5, United States Code, is repealed.</text>
