		<section id="H74713C161E7C44E6B4637347CFE86538" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Amendments to title
			 9</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Title 9, United States Code,
			 is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="HEBA3A3DC602D4D6792E72A6410E30204"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in section 1, by
			 striking <quote>of seamen,</quote> and all that follows through
			 <quote>interstate commerce</quote>; and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" id="H4623214F6C924059B8783FD4B259C4EB"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in section
			 2—</text>
				<subparagraph commented="no" id="HC55E3AC3B42D4E9BA7E3BC633F00E764"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>A written provision</quote> and inserting the following:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HE95FBAEE42334C17954522B8AADB7E16" style="OLC">
						<subsection id="H0609EAAF68604E3484D33A34CCD08628"><enum>(a)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A written
				provision</text>
						</subsection><after-quoted-block>; and
				</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</subparagraph><subparagraph commented="no" id="H498EFB1D1E0944EB8B3FAE81B70F04D4"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by inserting after
			 subsection (a), the following new subsections:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H319FE1A7867A4F16941655700CE8C2A8" style="OLC">
						<subsection id="HA8052F9524AA4606B236447CF5347CAA"><enum>(b)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of this
				title, no predispute arbitration agreement shall be valid or enforceable if it
				requires arbitration of an employment dispute. The term ‘employment dispute’
				means a dispute between an employer and employee arising out of the
				relationship of employer and employee.</text>
						</subsection><subsection id="H1E74C59E0D9E4097A00CE817B25AB2F1"><enum>(c)</enum><text>Nothing in this
				chapter shall apply to any arbitration provision in a contract between an
				employer and a labor organization, except that no such arbitration provision
				shall have the effect of waiving the right of an employee to seek judicial
				enforcement of a right arising under a provision of the Constitution of the
				United States, a State constitution, or a Federal or State statute, or public
				policy arising
				therefore.</text>
