<section id="H05D0CC345C284D0B81B41CABF9CFF68F" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Applicability of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act to the Transportation Security Administration</header>
<subsection id="H00558BBD16A6464B92D4E30838A783A7"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 111(d) of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act (49 U.S.C. 44935 note; Public Law 107–71) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HE042BF54F5ED4587804EA50907892896"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking <quote>Notwithstanding</quote> and inserting the following:</text> 
<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HA904926420A442A0BB5FA42C9971E931" style="OLC"> 
<paragraph id="H0F7DC35FA32842A79F577423A3EDD4B5"><enum>(1)</enum><header>General authority</header><text>Except as provided in paragraph (2), and notwithstanding</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H08009158C2604920B6E67635EACBB51E"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text>

<paragraph id="H17FCA3A6217A4486B78681FE53CDAAA1"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Uniformed services employment and reemployment rights act</header><text>In carrying out the functions authorized under paragraph (1), the Under Secretary shall be subject to the provisions set forth in chapter 43 of title 38, United States Code.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="H33473BE0D1D94A889B18FBFB799A11C6"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendments made by subsection (a) shall take effect on the date that is 270 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></subsection></section>
