		<official-title>To amend the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act to
		  require States receiving funds under section 106 of such Act to have in effect
		  a State law providing for a criminal penalty on a person who has knowledge of
		  child abuse or neglect, but fails to report such abuse or neglect to a law
		  enforcement official or child protective services.</official-title>

		<section id="HC8F9B0118CCE4B80B63E11CB8FA37570" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>See Something, Say Something
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H8DA486EAFC754E95B5321456794F2F0B"><enum>2.</enum><header>Requirement for
			 States receiving grants for child abuse and neglect prevention and treatment
			 programs</header>
			<subsection id="H582F2AB4BFE2479BB45B884706D5AF85"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>Section 106(b)(2) of the Child Abuse Prevention and
			 Treatment Act (42 U.S.C. 5106a(b)(2)) is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="H5FC75D63ABF3434EAB7B8A17A101993A"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph
			 (F), by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HE5006C5927954F01AE2C7B834351DF1C"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subparagraph
			 (G), by striking the period at the end and inserting <quote>; and</quote>; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H060B1A64584E46C386E97275F91BDE9C"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the
			 end the following:</text>
					<quoted-block id="H90EDE195BAF6482695FFE064CA79C623" style="OLC">
						<subparagraph id="HE216CC3CEBC046E586075FAEC51CD42F"><enum>(H)</enum><text>an assurance in
				the form of a certification by the Governor of the State that the State has in
				effect and is enforcing a State law providing for a criminal penalty on any
				person 18 years of age or older who fails to report to a State or local law
				enforcement official or child protective services that the person has knowledge
				of child abuse or neglect that occurred in the State.</text>
						</subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HEB5C470E2CD0422FA67236FAA8BB1657"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall take effect on
			 December 31, 2013.</text>
