		<official-title>To amend title 49, United States Code, to allow
		  additional transit systems greater flexibility with certain public
		  transportation projects.</official-title>

		<section id="HBCC1E1AF736043F7AFB7CACC465C4EE0" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Transit System Flexibility Protection
			 Act of 2011</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HC0A87FA1010246DCB2CF4FA79370309E"><enum>2.</enum><header>Urbanized area
			 formula grants</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section
			 5307(b)(1) of title 49, United States Code, is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="H26F643607B294CECBF95C95F6EB9BB6D"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating
			 subparagraphs (E) and (F) as subparagraphs (G) and (H), respectively;
			 and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HEBCD589E0F7242FCB88BB14E14FEC3E1"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting after
			 subparagraph (D) the following:</text>
				<quoted-block id="H9B22949BB5CA4BBAB1969E7B882395DD" style="OLC">
					<subparagraph id="HE752276BF85F4590B80358E11C494A6D"><enum>(E)</enum><text>operating costs,
				not to exceed 50 percent, of equipment and facilities for use in public
				transportation systems that operate 75 or fewer buses during peak service hours
				in an urbanized area with a population of at least 200,000; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H2671FA5A43E342E4B4840D113EE97657"><enum>(F)</enum><text>operating costs
				not to exceed 25 percent, of equipment and facilities for use in public
				transportation systems that operate a minimum of 76 buses and a maximum of 100
				buses during peak service hours in an urbanized area with a population of at
				least
				200,000.</text>
