		<section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H62BB0784D6BE4F289FEC91BBBB0A49B2" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Findings</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Congress finds that—</text>
			<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H4746262F232D44A19052DEA65679CD40"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">pursuant to section 5505 of division A of
			 the Omnibus Consolidated Appropriations Act, 1997 (Public Law 104–208; 110
			 Stat. 3009–516), the Secretary of the Interior, acting through the Bureau of
			 Land Management, issued to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society located
			 in Chippewa County of the State of Michigan United States Patent Number
			 61–98–0040 on September 23, 1998;</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H9D25B6A253B04C5F85F962D427D8C01F"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">United States Patent Number 61–98–0040 was
			 recorded in the Office of the Register of Deeds of Chippewa County of the State
			 of Michigan, on January 22, 1999, at Liber 757, on pages 115 through
			 118;</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HC5949A4D9E6046349025EBE86B9FBE76"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in order to correct an error in United
			 States Patent Number 61–98–0040, the Secretary issued a corrected patent,
			 United States Patent Number 61–2000–0007, on March 10, 2000;</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H1473734F34D74CE493DA6CBDD337F28C"><enum>(4)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">after issuance of the corrected United
			 States Patent Number 61–2000–0007, the original United States Patent Number
			 61–98–0040 was cancelled on the records of the Bureau of Land Management;
			 and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H90491714440F4836AF19A4BC473F7E8C"><enum>(5)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">corrected United States Patent Number
			 61–2000–0007 should be modified in accordance with this Act—</text>
				<subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H069828C9FD7E41938AD02CE10332A2B5"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">to effectuate—</text>
					<clause commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H330A2B98E9D54EE29D7CA612C7063BA0"><enum>(i)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the Human Use/Natural Resource Plan for
			 Whitefish Point, dated December 2002; and</text>
					</clause><clause commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HE160636F2558415E8B8E2DBA04B50D2D"><enum>(ii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the settlement agreement dated July 16,
			 2001, filed in Docket Number 2:00–CV–206 in the United States District Court
			 for the Western District of Michigan; and</text>
					</clause></subparagraph><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H808F8380651A462CA473C73521F88C0C"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">to ensure a clear chain of title, recorded
			 in the Office of the Register of Deeds of Chippewa County of the State of
			 Michigan.</text>
				</subparagraph></paragraph></section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H4C9241250A7B4F35AF0CB07C6830EB4B" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Modification of land grant patent issued by
			 Secretary of the interior</header>
			<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H6C1508A849504A368E583D024B8E9377"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of the Interior shall modify
			 the matter under the heading <quote>Subject Also to the Following
			 Conditions</quote> of paragraph 6 of United States Patent Number 61–2000–0007
			 by striking <quote>Whitefish Point Comprehensive Plan of October 1992 or for a
			 gift shop</quote> and inserting <quote>Human Use/Natural Resource Plan for
			 Whitefish Point, dated December 2002</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H6CFAC77508C5442992BE4B3834D78C05"><enum>(b)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Effect</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Each other term of the conveyance relating
			 to the property that is the subject of United States Patent Number
			 61–2000–0007, including each obligation to maintain the property in accordance
			 with the National Historic Preservation Act (16 U.S.C. 470 et seq.) and any
			 other appropriate law (including regulations), and the obligation to use the
			 property in a manner that does not impair or interfere with the conservation
			 values of the property, shall remain in effect.</text>
			</subsection></section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H2157357CA43745938890D728F0AB1770" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>3.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Effective date</header>
			<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H9F8BC7B962D74D63AA48BCBA514B5215"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The modification of United States Patent
			 Number 61–2000–0007 in accordance with section 2 shall become effective on the
			 date of the recording of the modification in the Office of the Register of
			 Deeds of Chippewa County of the State of Michigan.</text>
			</subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HFB69A7B9F86C4F2581DF8166CC6938E6"><enum>(b)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Endorsement</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Office of the Register of Deeds of
			 Chippewa County of the State of Michigan is requested to endorse on the
			 recorded copy of United States Patent Number 61–2000–0007 the fact that the
			 Patent Number has been modified in accordance with this Act.</text>
