		<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H1FD7A772F9FD4B74AB0CF80D5A7E14F6" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Second Amendment Protection Act of
			 2011</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H8A9DED30FC094077BB705978485A8D82"><enum>2.</enum><header>Repeal of 1993
			 law providing for a waiting period before the purchase of a handgun, and the
			 establishment of a national instant criminal background check system to be
			 contacted by firearms dealers before the transfer of any firearm</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Public Law 103–159 is repealed, and any
			 provisions of law amended or repealed by such Act are restored or revived as if
			 such Act had not been enacted.</text>
		</section><section id="H0E22279F3BE1428E8809543312DDE4E6"><enum>3.</enum><header>Elimination of
			 sporting purposes distinction</header>
			<subsection id="H44011734FA70424D937960DED26D2DC3"><enum>(a)</enum><text>Section 5845(f) of
			 the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HAA3DF5A7860C44178BD81CA2A67BAA32"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking <quote>which the Secretary
			 finds is generally recognized as particularly suitable for sporting
			 purposes</quote>; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HCBC89321B69A49C0B40892E95922CE51"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>which the owner intends to use solely for sporting
			 purposes</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H84F9796C593B48CB83BD1083DFAA6EEB"><enum>(b)</enum><text>Section
			 921(a)(4)(B) of title 18, United States Code, is amended by striking
			 <quote>which the Attorney General finds is generally recognized as particularly
			 suitable for sporting purposes</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H6619051A9F5046419BB6ADFDDBE138AA"><enum>(c)</enum><text>Section 921(a)(4)
			 of such title is amended in the second sentence by striking <quote>which the
			 owner intends to use solely for sporting, recreational or cultural
			 purposes</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HBA932AEEDFB44C9FA5138E0768A47FDA"><enum>(d)</enum><text>Section
			 921(a)(17)(C) of such title is amended by striking <quote>a projectile which
			 the Attorney General finds is primarily intended to be used for sporting
			 purposes,</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H94A00F9E8F48444FAED7DD10B06FBCD9"><enum>(e)</enum><text>Section 923(j) of
			 such title is amended by striking <quote>devoted to the collection, competitive
			 use, or other sporting use of firearms in the community</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H8DD2662C1829461091B97AAC49AEA4CA"><enum>(f)</enum><text>Section 922(r) of
			 such title is amended by striking <quote>of this chapter as not being
			 particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting
			 purposes</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HF00175BCAB2743F5BE35BE8581D65368"><enum>(g)</enum><text>Section 925(a)(3)
			 of such title is amended by striking <quote>determined by the Attorney General
			 to be generally recognized as particularly suitable for sporting purposes
			 and</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H195D7EE9B8804A899173C0E3B9D37244"><enum>(h)</enum><text>Section 925(a)(4)
			 of such title is amended by striking <quote>(A) determined by the Attorney
			 General to be generally recognized as particularly suitable for sporting
			 purposes, or determined by the Department of Defense to be a type of firearm
			 normally classified as a war souvenir, and (B)</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HADEC098703FF470AA8A8C57F7E261BC0"><enum>(i)</enum><text>Section 925(d)(3)
			 of such title is amended by striking <quote>and is generally recognized as
			 particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting
			 purposes</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HFB462C01757B4031BDBEF393BA97C647"><enum>(j)</enum><text>Section 925(e)(2)
			 of such title is amended by striking <quote>, provided that such handguns are
			 generally recognized as particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to
			 sporting purposes</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H397318915DAE4351B4A0188DE202F8BB"><enum>(k)</enum><text>Section 922 of
			 such title is amended in each of subsections (a)(5), (a)(9), and (b)(3) by
			 striking <quote>lawful sporting purposes</quote> and inserting <quote>lawful
			 purposes</quote>.</text>
			</subsection></section><section id="HD959C35D74C0434398D8DD9E702530AB"><enum>4.</enum><header>Repeal of the
			 Child Safety Lock Act of 2005</header>
			<subsection id="HA678D17919DC4246B3A2023907636559"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Amendments to
			 title 18, united states code</header>
				<paragraph id="H2E8A9480245340F7ACE26A8BB3C163F8"><enum>(1)</enum><text>Section 922 of
			 title 18, United States Code, is amended by striking subsection (z).</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HAB85301FDA914D66863978B5329B6F49"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Section 924 of
			 such title is amended—</text>
					<subparagraph id="HC9E0A7CF636048F0AA23D943F30B0474"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in subsection
			 (a)(1), by striking <quote>(f), or (p)</quote> and inserting <quote>or
			 (f)</quote>; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H66F9C3D7765840DC926CEACE660E50DD"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking
			 subsection (p).</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H6A9FEE7B62024638A4A79B97FAA24321"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Repealer</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 5 of the Protection of Lawful
			 Commerce in Arms Act (18 U.S.C. 922 note; 119 Stat. 2099) is repealed.</text>
			</subsection></section><section id="H4354E8A627D5408D8C792B16FB8D2298"><enum>5.</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The provisions of this
			 Act shall take effect immediately upon enactment.</text>
