		<section id="HC50403D1EAE74298A8CFFB3B3C0E43BB" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Services of mental health
			 counselors</header>
			<subsection id="HD23B38EB36C4452E9756E576DE75A50A"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Reimbursement of
			 mental health counselors under TRICARE</header>
				<paragraph id="H5F0340BBB9D24CDFBDA05184947D3044"><enum>(1)</enum><header> Reimbursement
			 under TRICARE</header><text>Section 1079(a)(8) of title 10, United States Code,
			 is amended—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H57626E47EEED406481309F83ED175FE9"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by inserting
			 <quote>or licensed or certified mental health counselors</quote> after
			 <quote>certified marriage and family therapists</quote> both places it appears;
			 and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H1E473EF633574D2699ECCB0C33F1AF8C"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by inserting
			 <quote>or licensed or certified mental health counselors</quote> after
			 <quote>that the therapists</quote>.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H7EAFDF3BAF564EEBAC47A106257EE7DC"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Authority to
			 assess medical or psychological necessity of service or
			 supply</header><text>Section 1079(a)(13) of such title is amended by inserting
			 <quote>, licensed or certified mental health counselor, </quote> after
			 <quote>certified marriage and family therapist</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HA7F91CF518864429810AEDA896C8A289"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Services of
			 mental health counselors</header>
				<paragraph id="H626D6F5C12FC4B6EB6C62E934872674E"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Authority to
			 enter into personal services contracts</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 704(c)(2) of the National Defense
			 Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1995 (Public Law 103–337; 108 Stat. 2799; 10
			 U.S.C. 1091 note) is amended by inserting <quote>mental health
			 counselors,</quote> after <quote>psychologists,</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H90D8121FD29F4243B25D06DD57463682"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Applicability of
			 licensure requirement for health-care professionals</header><text>Section
			 1094(e)(2) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by inserting
			 <quote>mental health counselor,</quote> after
			 <quote>psychologist,</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H984D5F62760440E1B17F76BF80BAB359"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Reports</header>
				<paragraph id="H624218D998FE4918B952A2B8DFF1B0CB"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Report</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 180 days after the date of
			 the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to Congress a
			 report on the implementation of the amendments made by this section.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H428F483048B24034AE3E9CE064ACA9FC"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Updated
			 report</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than one
			 year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall submit to
			 Congress an update to the report submitted under paragraph (1).</text>
