		<official-title>To better provide for compensation for certain persons
		  injured in the course of employment at the Santa Susana Field Laboratory in

		<section id="H64DECE872C184AF0A5B02E3AA5F8C10A" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Definition of member of
			 special exposure cohort</header>
			<subsection id="HB9B4C336539F41788926CAF5135479AB"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>Section 3621(14) of the Energy Employees Occupational
			 Illness Compensation Program Act of 2000 (42 U.S.C. 7384l(14)) is amended by
			 adding at the end the following new subparagraph:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H6C47B273A4E94BD59CD4CEB0ACC29019" style="OLC">
					<subparagraph id="HFA21FF85C4F94CD59230B6B5ED3FE9CF"><enum>(D)</enum><text>The employee was
				so employed for a number of work days aggregating at least 250 work days before
				January 1, 2006, by the Department of Energy or a Department of Energy
				contractor or subcontractor at the Santa Susana Field Laboratory in
				California.</text>

			</subsection><subsection id="HE8DC5912B2224DA587FDAE7D50F2638B"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Reapplication</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A claim that an individual qualifies, by
			 reason of section 3621(14)(D) of the Energy Employees Occupational Illness
			 Compensation Program Act of 2000 (as added by
			 <internal-xref idref="HB9B4C336539F41788926CAF5135479AB" legis-path="3.(a)">subsection (a)</internal-xref> of this Act), for
			 compensation or benefits under such Act shall be considered for compensation or
			 benefits notwithstanding any denial of any other claim for compensation with
			 respect to such individual.</text>
