		<official-title>To amend title 39, United States Code, to provide that
		  the procedures governing the closure or consolidation of postal branches and
		  stations shall be the same as those applicable in the case of post
		  offices.</official-title>

		<section id="id56CB50BC0D8543EA9DE767C95AF77146" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Post Office Transparency
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HC2E67E39E6E4432BAAC8F2B9E64CED84" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Extension of
			 procedures relating to postal closings and consolidations</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 404 of title 39, United States Code,
			 is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H08887E33C4984B27B6A872A4D9947A89" style="USC">
				<subsection id="H121F101DC7144D9C8BE8104D551A57ED"><enum>(f)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">For purposes of subsections (a)(3) and
				(d)—</text>
					<paragraph id="H816B1C75BD724689AA1EA73B76EFE966"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the term
				<term>post office</term> includes a branch, station, or other facility
				which—</text>
						<subparagraph id="H8B559F8F4B6F414687DD6FF1FB9E1213"><enum>(A)</enum><text>is operated by the
				Postal Service; and</text>
						</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H0ECC9616E38E4209897DDCBEAFBDF305"><enum>(B)</enum><text>provides services
				to persons described in paragraph (2); and</text>
						</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H6D9780DB93ED4F16879DDE45DFA4D571"><enum>(2)</enum><text>any reference in
				subsection (d) to the persons served by a post office shall include any postal
				patrons receiving mail delivery services from such post office, residents
				within any ZIP code served by such post office, postal patrons having post
				office boxes at such post office, and the relevant local government officials
				(as defined under regulations of the Postal
				Service).</text>
