<section id="HE944519D436441CC82942FD253D7DB89" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Risk-Based Security Screening for Members of the Armed Forces Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section> 
<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HE721A6E1290B4011BC3B8E9FAA5DE361" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Security screening for members of the Armed Forces</header> 
<subsection id="H64C1B67D873C4E96AB3B370EFFDC4D83"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 44903 of title 49, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>

<subsection id="HBC434A09A78041BBBA013CDD51238404"><enum>(m)</enum><header>Security screening for members of the Armed Forces</header> 
<paragraph id="HE2A3A849FC644664AE8896631119E9DE"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Assistant Secretary shall develop and implement a plan to provide expedited security screening services for a member of the Armed Forces, and any accompanying family member, when the member of the Armed Forces presents documentation indicating official orders while in uniform through a primary airport (as defined by section 47102 of this title).</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H331B7E278DD24091B63574992263D2CC"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Protocols</header><text>In developing the plan, the Assistant Secretary shall consider—</text> 
<subparagraph id="HBCD5FB086D504D84862002276AE1FAB9"><enum>(A)</enum><text>leveraging existing security screening models used by airports and air carriers to reduce passenger wait times before entering a security screening checkpoint;</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HE5ECD35EF60D4DD1A51A4F0795F257A2"><enum>(B)</enum><text>establishing standard guidelines for the screening of military uniform items, including combat boots; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H13CC79A3575745E2A03143179D2836A3"><enum>(C)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">incorporating any new screening protocols into an existing trusted passenger program, as established pursuant to section 109(a)(3) of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act (Public Law 107–71; 115 Stat. 613; 49 U.S.C. 114 note), or into the development of any new credential or system that incorporates biometric technology and other applicable technologies to verify the identity of individuals traveling in air transportation.</text></subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H2045924813B040BC94F730338DC1BA6E"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Report to Congress</header><text>The Assistant Secretary shall submit to the appropriate committees of Congress a report on the implementation of the plan.</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> 
<subsection id="H7C1B18B29B4744CD91665330AC64ABEC"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Assistant Secretary shall implement the plan required by this Act.</text></subsection></section>
