		  Protection Agency to convene a task force to develop recommendations on the
		  proper disposal of unused pharmaceuticals, and for other

		<section id="HA5719863ABA248249E8D55DCDEE73CF1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Drug Free Water Act of
			 2011</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H9CC90E2FD2CF48FFAA085A19A7DAD378"><enum>2.</enum><header>Task force on
			 proper disposal of unused pharmaceuticals</header>
			<subsection id="H4DD65E83CC3C46D296B1F9588D7FFAAB"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In furtherance of the
			 national goals and policies set forth in section 101 of the Federal Water
			 Pollution Control Act (33 U.S.C. 1251), the Administrator of the Environmental
			 Protection Agency (in this Act referred to as the <term>Administrator</term>)
			 shall convene a task force (in this Act referred to as the <term>task
			 force</term>) to develop—</text>
				<paragraph id="H38C172881DE2457EA58DE90A784F9291"><enum>(1)</enum><text>recommendations on
			 the proper disposal of unused pharmaceuticals by consumers, health care
			 providers, and others, which recommendations shall—</text>
					<subparagraph id="HB7961228E7994D3E947E3AF8DD4D3400"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">be calculated to prevent or reduce the
			 detrimental effects on the environment and human health caused by introducing
			 unused pharmaceuticals, directly or indirectly, into water systems; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HA38E0B51BF1949BC884EED8A2E4F9365"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">provide for limiting the disposal of unused
			 pharmaceuticals through treatment works in accordance with the Federal Water
			 Pollution Control Act (33 U.S.C. 1251 et seq.); and</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HD32C8A964FE846358678A44EF7D37E7F"><enum>(2)</enum><text>a
			 strategy for the Federal Government to educate the public on such
			 recommendations.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H353BF488D5104026978237545CCB061E"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Membership</header><text>The
			 task force shall be composed of—</text>
				<paragraph id="H31BB555DAE0648FCAA9E6A1C4B377942"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the Administrator
			 (or the Administrator’s designee), who shall serve as the Chair of the task
			 force;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H4D7DAFC838A049709867FD1C469B7E85"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the Commissioner
			 of Food and Drugs (or the Commissioner’s designee); and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H06FE8A4944ED4FB9823C49A1F42E309D"><enum>(3)</enum><text>such other members
			 as the Administrator may appoint.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HA72D72C527A243C38C3CC5A2979C2914"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not
			 later than 1 year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the task force
			 shall submit a report to the Congress containing the recommendations and
			 strategy required by subsection (a).</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H4D4CC242F8924432A4C1A7A684F8E22A"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Staff of Federal
			 agencies</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Upon request of the
			 task force, the head of any department or agency of the United States may
			 detail any of the personnel of that department or agency to the task force to
			 assist in carrying out its duties under this section.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HEB679A752A4A44A991633468CF62FC92"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Termination</header><text>The
			 task force shall terminate 180 days after submitting the report required by
			 subsection (c).</text>
