		<official-title>To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow Head
		  Start teachers the same above-the-line deduction for supplies as is allowed to
		  elementary and secondary school teachers.</official-title>

		<section id="H397D9E499EFA4C039D3B363169D10A62" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Head start teachers allowed
			 above-the-line deduction for supplies</header>
			<subsection id="H7BBF87514A9C4CE2B42798248714F81B"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Paragraph (1) of
			 section 62(d) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (defining eligible educator)
			 is amended by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H3E9CBD2E679F47A2873397061D377CF3" style="OLC">
					<subparagraph id="H0824395545644DCCA4EDF557DB9B8588"><enum>(C)</enum><header>Head start
				teachers</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term
				<term>eligible education</term> includes, with respect to any taxable year, an
				individual who is a teacher or aide under a Head Start program operating under
				the Head Start Act (42 U.S.C. 9831 et seq.) for at least 700 hours during a
				school
				year.</text>
					</subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="H5A69F1141F63485380F4A16D858FB33E"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply to taxable
			 years ending after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
