		<section id="HBD621E8DB3B74E389D57BFDD4C82154F" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Government Shutdown Prevention Act of
			 2011</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H97633935BCE44811AC2575A2D6AF81F5"><enum>2.</enum><header>Funding the
			 government for the remainder of fiscal year 2011</header>
			<subsection id="HCEB74A01399B49209D8D50FA29B4186F"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Deadline for
			 consideration of legislation funding the government for the remainder of fiscal
			 year 2011</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">If the House has
			 not received a message from the Senate before April 6, 2011, stating that it
			 has passed a measure providing for the appropriations for the departments and
			 agencies of the Government for the remainder of fiscal year 2011, the
			 provisions of H.R. 1, as passed by the House on February 19, 2011, are hereby
			 enacted into law.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HC6D80C0A838042D0BEAD29117F46F6DE"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Publication of
			 act</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In publishing this Act in
			 slip form and in the United States Statutes at Large pursuant to
			 <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/1/112">section
			 112</external-xref> of title 1, United States Code, the Archivist of the United
			 States shall include after the date of approval, if applicable, an appendix
			 setting forth the text of the bill referred to in
			 <internal-xref idref="HCEB74A01399B49209D8D50FA29B4186F" legis-path="2.(a)">subsection (a)</internal-xref>.</text>
			</subsection></section><section id="H25DC2CA65EB24F689FE0503976B7F5B6"><enum>3.</enum><header>Treatment of
			 certain payments to Members of Congress and the President</header>
			<subsection id="H65152B7776024B9C91AFAD8BA56FB9B4"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Treatment of
			 Members during a government shutdown</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of the Senate and the Chief
			 Administrative Officer of the House, respectively, shall not disburse to each
			 Member or Delegate the amount of his or her salary for each day that—</text>
				<paragraph id="HDF9E09CAA6894FA3A98C98B4C3DFCC74"><enum>(1)</enum><text>there is more than
			 a 24-hour lapse in appropriations for any Federal agency or department as a
			 result of a failure to enact a regular appropriations bill or continuing
			 resolution; or</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HCB6CF2E5AC9B471F8A2B5754D0A6F2FC"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the Federal
			 Government is unable to make payments or meet obligations because the public
			 debt limit under <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/31/3101">section 3101</external-xref> of title 31, United
			 States Code, has been reached.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H7AB2EC7BE40445CA8F83CFC6F4778C65"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Treatment of the
			 President during a government shutdown</header><text>The President shall not
			 receive a disbursement of basic pay for any period in which—</text>
				<paragraph id="H9ED1AA7093AE42D4BF9F7F9C961D1734"><enum>(1)</enum><text>there is more than
			 a 24-hour lapse in appropriations for any Federal agency or department as a
			 result of a failure to enact a regular appropriations bill or continuing
			 resolution; or</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H2998745E932141B8BC7B700F5635717A"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the Federal
			 Government is unable to make payments or meet obligations because the public
			 debt limit under <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/31/3101">section 3101</external-xref> of title 31, United
			 States Code, has been reached.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body>
