		<official-title>To amend the National Labor Relations Act to apply the
		  protections of the Act to teaching and research assistants.</official-title>

		<section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short
			 title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as
			 the <quote><short-title>Teaching and Research Assistant
			 Collective Bargaining Rights Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="id058156E6B31945DF8B7255D9995406C0"><enum>2.</enum><header>Definition</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 2(3) of the National Labor Relations
			 Act (29 U.S.C. 152(3)) is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="id76A7EDCF405D483B8AC9DE258C95CF3D"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking <quote>(3)</quote> and
			 inserting <quote>(3)(A)</quote>; and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="idB5B8ACA182AB4A55ACD6F06E8370F210"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by adding at the end the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id6DD50334B69D48AAB145DF0A6C6EE120" style="OLC">
					<subparagraph id="idAC3B8420D3184F73A685C77F5B943CB1" indent="up2"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>employee</term> includes a
				student enrolled at an institution of higher education (as defined in section
				101 or 102 of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 1001, 1002), other
				than an institution of a State or political subdivision) who is performing work
				for remuneration at the direction of the institution, whether or not the work
				relates to the student's course of
				study.</text>
