		<official-title>To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to issue
		  right-of-way permits for natural gas pipeline transportation utility systems in
		  non-wilderness areas within the boundary of Denali National Park and
		  Preserve.</official-title>

		<section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short
			 title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as
			 the <quote><short-title>Denali National Park and Preserve
			 Natural Gas Pipeline Act </short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="idA3A3601AE5CC448FB40045E9A8DE00B3"><enum>2.</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">In this Act:</text>
			<paragraph id="id4DD9036ECE5F42D0BBB7AB42BD710B1B"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Appurtenance</header>
				<subparagraph id="id66E3345548FE454EB6DCE55C8A91448D"><enum>(A)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term
			 <quote>appurtenance</quote> includes cathodic protection or test stations,
			 valves, signage, and buried communication and electric cables.</text>
				</subparagraph><subparagraph id="idC0BA8B532E0C406A87E9FAB0B85E35E5"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Exclusions</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <quote>appurtenance</quote> does
			 not include compressor stations.</text>
				</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="IDddeec2c72cc64220be2c69db945848a9"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Natural
			 gas</header><text>The term <quote>natural gas</quote> means any hydrocarbons
			 (other than oil) that are transported by the pipelines described in section
			 3(b).</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id0B93908CA4724749BA884D91B1B89879"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Park</header><text>The
			 term <quote>Park</quote> means the Denali National Park and Preserve in the
			 State of Alaska.</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id274AAD6DEAFA4402A1519C84D5D6E07A"><enum>(4)</enum><header>Secretary</header><text>The
			 term <quote>Secretary</quote> means the Secretary of the Interior, acting
			 through the Regional Director of the National Park Service for Alaska.</text>
			</paragraph></section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id0459DE221E264864AAB1166F011A6483"><enum>3.</enum><header>Permit for
			 proposed natural gas pipelines</header>
			<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id8144C193DB4043019E4003E467B16355"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding any
			 other provision of law, as soon as practicable after the date of enactment of
			 this Act, the Secretary shall issue in non-wilderness areas within the boundary
			 of the park right-of-way permits for proposed natural gas pipelines, as
			 described in subsection (b).</text>
			</subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id51C57C7A1CAA491FBD66AD7D00509BCA"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Description of
			 pipelines</header><text>The proposed natural gas pipelines referred to in
			 subsection (a) are—</text>
				<paragraph id="ID99f7083f167a496980e4d7ddedf66f0d"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the high-pressure
			 transmission pipeline located within, along, or near approximately 7 miles of
			 the George Parks Highway;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="IDf0beae38d731443da2d2c4f5c4931743"><enum>(2)</enum><text>pipeline system
			 appurtenances; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="IDb1df4b7586ca41d79a08750d1c73573f"><enum>(3)</enum><text>any distribution
			 and transmission pipelines needed to serve the Park.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="ID9b749d69f9c8420e88b6024929b6dcf0"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Terms and
			 conditions</header><text>A permit issued under subsection (a) shall be—</text>
				<paragraph id="IDd7d4213d833747a69e25b2b32c460e10"><enum>(1)</enum><text>issued consistent
			 with terms and conditions generally applicable to utility rights-of-way within
			 units of the National Park System; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="ID27db9a84139447289593a563f5dfb734"><enum>(2)</enum><text>subject to any
			 reasonable terms and conditions that the Secretary determines to be necessary
			 for conservation of Park resources.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body>
