		<official-title>To expand the boundary of the Jimmy Carter National
		  Historic Site in the State of Georgia, to redesignate the unit as a National
		  Historical Park, and for other purposes. </official-title>

		<section id="id47D13A01FA944E548D08F2C1BDDA6997" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Jimmy Carter National Historic Site
			 Expansion Act of 2009</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H104BB260535F41AE90AE3896A08B82F6" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Boundary
			 expansion</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1 of Public
			 Law 100–206 (16 U.S.C. 461 note; 101 Stat. 1434) is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="HCCF334BBFB574C8A83BC2D75770E6AAD"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (a),
			 by striking paragraph (3) and inserting the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HD70C039957AD4E189BBE1E5D55678E46" style="OLC">
					<paragraph id="HD135DD57EDDC49309FB569294449D6AE"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">preserve and interpret a southern
				agricultural-based rural community during the early to middle years of the 20th
				century.</text>
					</paragraph><after-quoted-block>;</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="H17B239F0E3D144B893D60A4BBDD87DD6"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in the first
			 sentence of subsection (b)(1), by striking <quote>map entitled <quote>Jimmy
			 Carter National Historic Site and Preservation District Boundary Map</quote>,
			 numbered NHS–JC–80000, and dated April 1987</quote> and inserting <quote>map
			 entitled <quote>_____</quote>, numbered ___, and dated ____</quote>;</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HC98F25A14E2E4A12BD4288C66BFACD0B"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in subsection
			 (b)(2)—</text>
				<subparagraph id="HD4B7A4FABE334A8D9FBCC580619457CE"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in the matter
			 preceding subparagraph (A), by inserting <quote>or is needed to enhance the
			 visitor experience at the Park</quote> after <quote>Georgia,</quote>;</text>
				</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H73C9868ED7E2443C943CE6BBAAAD6C8E"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in subparagraph
			 (C), by striking <quote>15</quote> and inserting <quote>18</quote>;</text>
				</subparagraph><subparagraph id="id5932D58998D84A4F8258C4C6A47DBFCE"><enum>(C)</enum><text>in subparagraph
			 (E), by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end;</text>
				</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H25F75D7C7DFC413790F484632C82381C"><enum>(D)</enum><text>in subparagraph
			 (F), by striking the period at the end and inserting <quote>and properties in
			 the vicinity of the residence along West Church Street that are needed for
			 administrative and visitor uses and to protect scenic values, not to exceed 10
			 acres;</quote>; and</text>
				</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HC78F046A81854A12AC0C8E45652FB156"><enum>(E)</enum><text>by adding at the
			 end the following:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HBC39D3E0BD0D40CF912859A6BE40BEB8" style="OLC">
						<subparagraph id="H564A47544C4E4F5B9800DADD1FF882DF"><enum>(G)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the Billy Carter Service Station at 104
				West Church Street, consisting of less than 1 acre of land;</text>
						</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H83A64AF74B8C4A9CB7B3F9D876CCE4B2"><enum>(H)</enum><text>the property at
				147 Old Plains Highway, known locally as the <term>Haunted House</term>, where
				Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter resided from 1956 to 1961, consisting of
				approximately 1 acre of land;</text>
						</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H27F995C48CC843CF907B654E8629C575"><enum>(I)</enum><text>the Georgia
				Welcome Center on State Route 280/27, consisting of approximately 18 acres of
				land; and</text>
						</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HD128C424996B435B819341945A955102"><enum>(J)</enum><text>2 corridors of
				land no wider than 50 feet each between the Georgia Welcome Center and the
				President Carter boyhood home for the purpose of establishing walking and
				biking trails while using, to the maximum extent practicable, the right-of-way
				for the Shoreline Excursion Train.</text>
						</subparagraph><after-quoted-block>;
				and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H628104A514A2430F9327C32FF0D722F9"><enum>(4)</enum><text>in subsection
			 (c)(2), by inserting <quote>the Georgia Welcome Center (described in subsection
			 (b)(2)(I)),</quote> after <quote>subsection (b)(2)(A)),</quote>.</text>
			</paragraph></section><section id="H32E0A56B784048119A9970B6B28D273C"><enum>3.</enum><header>Redesignation as
			 National Historical Park</header>
			<subsection id="HC6D70C1CCF134468903676C0D825E508"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Public Law 100–206
			 (16 U.S.C. 461 note; 101 Stat. 1434) is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HA92A5994BFC54E6EA6AAA5E81A09A64F"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>National Historic Site</quote> each place it appears and inserting
			 <quote>National Historical Park</quote>; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HFF9EB3201BE54DF986FF233B0834369D"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>the historic site</quote> each place it appears and inserting <quote>the
			 Park</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="idF8DA6C8B5FC349B2BF2D28CE5933734C"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming
			 amendment</header><text>Section 6 of Public Law 100–206 (16 U.S.C. 461 note;
			 101 Stat. 1437) is amended by striking <quote>historic site</quote> and
			 inserting <quote>Park</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HD947A83DC9E440998619B8D2EDD15E92"><enum>(c)</enum><header>References</header><text>Any
			 reference in a law, map, regulation, document, paper, or other record of the
			 United States to the <quote>Jimmy Carter National Historic Site</quote> shall
			 be deemed to be a reference to the <quote>Jimmy Carter National Historical
			 Park</quote>.</text>
			</subsection></section><section id="H4BFD1A31D648429199706298A13CCCB0"><enum>4.</enum><header>Authorization of
			 appropriations</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 7 of
			 Public Law 100–206 (16 U.S.C. 461 note; 101 Stat. 1437) is amended to read as
			 follows:</text>

				<section id="H651C625304284BB09987E82C16997F5D"><enum>7.</enum><header>Authorization of
				appropriations</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">There are
				authorized to be appropriated such sums as are necessary to carry out this
				Act.</text>
