		  advisors in each State in connection with the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration
		  Program. </official-title>

		<section id="idBACF277EB84E4A118CE18F321ABF41FB" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Transition Assistance Advisor
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="idCC77F1EEB4BF481ABB1578A25EC15E15" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Minimum number of
			 Transition Assistance Advisors in each State in connection with the Yellow
			 Ribbon Reintegration Program</header>
			<subsection id="idF7E58CC6A1454A19BDFD7237176F0BD0"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Minimum number
			 required</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 582 of the
			 National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 (Public Law 110–181;
			 122 Stat. 122; 10 U.S.C. 10101 note) is amended by adding at the end the
			 following new subsection:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id705B1C39445644D2BEC08CEF16D2F091" style="OLC">
					<subsection id="id9135263AD6BF48E5B73FC841861994EC"><enum>(i)</enum><header>Transition
				Assistance Advisors</header>
						<paragraph id="id3ACE5A2E822C40FAB1191D24D67B23FE"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Minimum number
				of advisors in each State</header><text>As part of the Yellow Ribbon
				Reintegration Program, the Secretary of Defense shall ensure that the minimum
				number of Transition Assistance Advisors (TAAs) in each State is as
				follows:</text>
							<subparagraph id="id475B33B8A13C47E1A6630C9D996BA23D"><enum>(A)</enum><text>During the period
				beginning 180 days before the commencement of a contingency operation (or, if
				later, as soon before as is otherwise practicable) and ending 180 days after
				the conclusion of such contingency operation, not less than one Transition
				Assistance Advisor for each 1,500 members of the Army National Guard of the
				United States and the Air National Guard of the United States who reside in
				such State.</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="id8C223379F93C4094AB786ED5342A6A93"><enum>(B)</enum><text>At any time not
				covered by subparagraph (A), not less than one Transition Assistance Advisor
				for each 5,000 members of the Army National Guard of the United States and the
				Air National Guard of the United States who reside in such State.</text>
							</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="id8A8EC0024756472AA9FF4E917B746FDE"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In
				this subsection:</text>
							<subparagraph id="id413915BA1B95441B8EFF425F310FAA95"><enum>(A)</enum><text>The term
				<term>contingency operation</term> has the meaning given that term in section
				101(a)(13) of title 10, United States Code.</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="id24C5C25093324AEDBA01E7C67DEFB640"><enum>(B)</enum><text>The term
				<quote>State</quote> means the several States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico,
				the District of Columbia, and the Virgin
				Islands.</text>
							</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="id083F0C7D4474459FBD79031919932861"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not
			 later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary
			 of Defense shall submit to Congress a report setting forth a description of the
			 efforts of the Secretary to implement the requirements of subsection (i) of the
			 National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008, as added by subsection
			 (a) of this section.</text>
