		<section id="id6B28AD58DC0F4D59B5A38D4E33AB38FE" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Veterans Jobs Opportunity Act of
			 2009</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HE9F129E8177F47D49CF25958FC2B98A3" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Incentive to hire
			 unemployed veterans</header>
			<subsection id="H0971D1A1EBF94A9F98853D09B14928FD"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Subsection (d) of
			 section 51 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is amended by adding at the end
			 the following new paragraph:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H8C23EABB753E480EB993992C38C23D73" style="OLC">
					<paragraph id="H284C7024A16342BEA01F15CE1D10A4D1"><enum>(14)</enum><header>Credit allowed
				for unemployed veterans hired in 2009 or 2010</header>
						<subparagraph id="H38E3AD44859A447CBA35C900C3E49F6F"><enum>(A)</enum><header>In
				general</header><text>Any unemployed veteran who begins work for the employer
				during 2009 or 2010 shall be treated as a member of a target group for purposes
				of this subpart.</text>
						</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H00DB8F120FCC454ABB33656C5FFAF1A1"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Unemployed
				veteran</header><text>For purposes of this paragraph, the term <term>unemployed
				veteran</term> means any veteran (as defined in paragraph (3)(B), determined
				without regard to clause (ii) thereof) who is certified by the designated local
				agency as—</text>
							<clause id="HFFBA4BB9FE11476BBAD0BA0282CD46E"><enum>(i)</enum><text>having been
				discharged or released from active duty in the Armed Forces during 2008, 2009,
				or 2010, and</text>
							</clause><clause id="H0805E63B440146A49C00F376ADA5436D"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>being in receipt
				of unemployment compensation under State or Federal law for not less than 4
				weeks during the 1-year period ending on the hiring
				date.</text>
							</clause></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H1B8E70DDB4F14DC0B4A8DE60772111CA"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text>The amendments made by this section shall apply to
			 individuals who begin work for the employer after December 31, 2008.</text>
