		<section id="idB931F160B80D45AF839156E1A092788E" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Green Gaming Act of
			 2009</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="id70D618CD38F34E9FBBE8F72F09AAAF3F" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Video game console
			 energy efficiency study</header>
			<subsection id="ID93ff47c0c94a4dcbbb2e22b935a3731a"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Initial
			 study</header>
				<paragraph id="IDeff6c306a9a846be8dab8c90b3cf8164"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this
			 Act, the Secretary of Energy (referred to in this section as the
			 <quote>Secretary</quote>) shall conduct a study of—</text>
					<subparagraph id="ID15a4f2b99714439e82dba7fa4585faec"><enum>(A)</enum><text>video game
			 console energy use; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="ID8d4ccc8048fa447cacbce40a45a03850"><enum>(B)</enum><text>opportunities for
			 energy savings regarding that energy use.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="ID5a297b7514d24c9e94203fbd47c5a4e3"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Inclusions</header><text>The
			 study under paragraph (1) shall include an assessment of all power consuming
			 modes and media playback modes.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="IDc08d9c8010484918a185f0066007207d"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Action on
			 completion</header><text>On completion of the initial study under subsection
			 (a), the Secretary shall determine, by regulation, whether minimum energy
			 efficiency standards for video game console energy use should be
			 established.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="ID66ba8a136ea0424889b50730b7ea22f8"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Follow-Up
			 study</header><text>If the Secretary determines under subsection (b) that
			 standards should not be established, not later than 3 years after the date of
			 completion of the determination, the Secretary shall conduct a follow-up
			 study.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="IDbedc8d1427e343e19867f15419ea8f0d"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Effect of
			 section</header><text>Nothing in this section prohibits a State from
			 establishing an energy efficiency standard for video game console energy use
			 before the date on which such a standard, if any, is established by the
			 Secretary pursuant to this section.</text>
