		<official-title>To amend the Reclamation Projects Authorization and
		  Adjustment Act of 1992 to require the Secretary of the Interior, acting through
		  the Bureau of Reclamation, to remedy problems caused by a collapsed drainage
		  tunnel in Leadville, Colorado, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="idD1779DF6C0734E48BEC980ABDC545B20" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Leadville Mine Drainage Tunnel
			 Remediation Act of 2009</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="id49FDBFCB1DE54505BC2952A89EDE6660"><enum>2.</enum><header>Tunnel
			 maintenance</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 705 of the
			 Reclamation Projects Authorization and Adjustment Act of 1992 (Public Law
			 102–575; 106 Stat. 4656) is amended to read as follows:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idA779CB00F2B044119BF454E6C6BB6487" style="OLC">
				<section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idF79A0EE20F9D4CD888F3D3DFF61DB542" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>705.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Tunnel maintenance</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The Secretary shall take such steps to
				repair or maintain the structural integrity of the Leadville Mine Drainage
				Tunnel as are necessary to prevent Tunnel failure and to preclude uncontrolled
				release of water from any portion of the
				Tunnel.</text>

		</section><section id="idBABCD3C2FFD947C993F61EFE4096471F"><enum>3.</enum><header>Water quality
			 restoration</header>
			<subsection id="idE45B41E7E7004C839FC2D0CE22D9E0AF"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 708(a) of the
			 Reclamation Projects Authorization and Adjustment Act of 1992 (Public Law
			 102–575; 106 Stat. 4657) is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="H1FF0DE790FA842F499004DA7F818B05C"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>(a) The Secretary</quote> and inserting the following:</text>

				</paragraph><paragraph id="HA7BDCD893A304EC180793FAB1F26AF74"><enum>(4)</enum><text>by inserting after
			 <quote>Recovery Act.</quote> the following:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H20885474D55D4CFE9FF4A3BABD93FD7" style="OLC">
						<subparagraph id="HC360C32642E04A19B700EEB200304E95"><enum>(B)</enum><header>California Gulch
				Superfund Site operable unit 6 remedy</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary shall participate in the
				implementation of the operable unit 6 remedy for the California Gulch Superfund
				Site, as the remedy is described in the Record of Decision of the Environmental
				Protection Agency for the operable unit (2003), by—</text>
							<clause id="H83D18E37386443F994DE7CACE426F6D7"><enum>(i)</enum><text>treating water
				behind any blockage or bulkhead in the Leadville Mine Drainage Tunnel,
				including surface water diverted into the Tunnel workings as part of the
				remedy; and</text>
							</clause><clause id="HAFFABDC004D249C4B7007E219119CA04"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>managing and
				maintaining the mine pool behind the blockage or bulkhead at a level that
				precludes surface runoff and releases and minimizes the potential for Tunnel
				failure due to excessive water pressure in the
				Tunnel.</text>
							</clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>;
				and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="id117AB11932824B13AA5E2DCAC10543D2"><enum>(5)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>For the purpose of</quote> and inserting the following:</text>

			 approprations</header><text>Section 708(f) of the Reclamation Projects
			 Authorization and Adjustment Act of 1992 (Public Law 102–575; 106 Stat. 4657)
			 is amended by striking <quote>sections 707 and 708</quote> and inserting
			 <quote>this section and sections 705 and 707</quote>.</text>
