	<preamble>
		<whereas><text>Whereas the many forms of dance expression represent the
			 artistic, regional, and ethnic diversity of the United States;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas dance forms in the United States span the
			 spectrums from classical to popular and from ballet to tap, and include the
			 many popular line and partner dances of today;</text>
		</whereas><whereas commented="no"><text>Whereas dancing is an activity that helps
			 improve heart health, burns calories, strengthens muscles, and improves
			 flexibility;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas a renewed public interest in dancing as a physical
			 fitness activity coincides with First Lady Michelle Obama’s <quote>Let’s
			 Move!</quote> initiative to combat childhood obesity;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas obesity has been recognized as epidemic in the
			 United States;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas an estimated 31.8 percent of people in the United
			 States aged 2 to 19, and an estimated 68 percent of people in the United States
			 aged 20 and older, are overweight or obese;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas childhood obesity in the United States has more
			 than tripled in the past 30 years;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas dancing, in all its variations, is a popular form
			 of physical exercise;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas Nigel Lythgoe, executive producer of, and judge
			 on, the dance-themed television show <quote>So You Think You Can Dance</quote>,
			 in association with the Dizzy Feet Foundation, will celebrate July 31, 2010, as
			 National Dance Day in the Nation’s capital; and</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas July 31 would be an appropriate date on which to
			 annually celebrate National Dance Day: Now, therefore, be it</text>
		</whereas></preamble>
	<resolution-body id="H92B1F6AF628C4FA0832C612D52592D4F" style="traditional">
		<section display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H3392D31D6F7C406BB740388EB84DD6BB" section-type="undesignated-section"><enum></enum><text>That the House of
			 Representatives—</text>
			<paragraph id="H03CF964FE3BE4A7486D272BF20B8C4D0"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">supports the designation of National Dance
			 Day as a way to show commitment to dance education and physical fitness across
			 the United States;</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="H2E76DC17FDCA4690B4B010DEF6F09D40"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">supports the goals of First Lady Michelle
			 Obama’s initiative to combat childhood obesity; and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="H998C5AD2180040768123F4BC7FA8C888"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">acknowledges that promoting dance can make
			 an important difference in encouraging physical fitness.</text>
