		<official-title>To amend titles 23 and 49, United States Code, to require
		  metropolitan planning organizations to consider greenhouse gas emissions in
		  long-range transportation plans and transportation improvement

		<section id="H116573E0A1604DE7A0B894F392F7C5FD" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Green Transit
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H91A76FA84D434C998C13616436BE4C31" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Greenhouse gas
			 emissions in long-range transportation plans</header>
			<subsection id="HEFA64361E7EB4DD89C6DA48C163E619D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Highway
			 planning</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 134(c)(2) of
			 title 23, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following
			 sentence: <quote>Such plans and TIPs shall be developed after consideration of
			 emissions of greenhouse gases (as defined in section 211(o)(1) of the Clean Air
			 Act (42 U.S.C. 7545(o)(1)) and shall provide for reductions in such
			 emissions.</quote></text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H35430694A70C4A7C916C2950D07BE95D"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Public
			 transportation planning</header><text>Section 5303(c)(2) of title 49, United
			 States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following sentence:
			 <quote>Such plans and TIPs shall be developed after consideration of emissions
			 of greenhouse gases (as defined in section 211(o)(1) of the Clean Air Act (42
			 U.S.C. 7545(o)(1)) and shall provide for reductions in such
