		(H.R. 689) entitled <quote>An Act to interchange the administrative
		jurisdiction of certain Federal lands between the Forest Service and the Bureau
		of Land Management, and for other purposes.</quote>, do pass with the

					<section id="IDaee2c19450fc45c4abcfe203e513af77" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
		  <quote><short-title>Shasta-Trinity National Forest
		  Administrative Jurisdiction Transfer Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
					</section><section id="IDf643d6bef3794360a34b2afed76023ea"><enum>2.</enum><header>Transfer of
		  administrative jurisdiction to the bureau of land management</header>
						<subsection id="ID8a29be9cd29d4804b70449d4f771cf37"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
		  general</header><text>Administrative jurisdiction over the Federal land
		  described in subsection (b) is transferred from the Secretary of Agriculture to
		  the Secretary of the Interior.</text>
						</subsection><subsection id="IDd0dd3c2bb98a43d080f16c8e3c025c16"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Description of
		  land</header><text>The Federal land referred to in subsection (a) is the land
		  within the Shasta-Trinity National Forest in California, Mount Diablo Meridian,
		  as generally depicted on the map entitled <quote>Shasta-Trinity Administrative
		  Jurisdiction Transfer: Transfer from Forest Service to BLM, Map 1</quote> and
		  dated November 23, 2009.</text>
						</subsection><subsection id="IDca8ec9f7abdf414c8baef34f0a825bc9"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Management and status
		  of transferred land</header><text>The Federal land described in subsection (b)
		  shall be administered in accordance with—</text>
							<paragraph id="id518539AC9F1C462ABFD52478FFBBB7CB"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the Federal Land Policy
		  and Management Act of 1976 (43 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.); and</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="id43AEB349946A442C8F9DC57F5826A03D"><enum>(2)</enum><text>any other applicable law
		  (including regulations).</text>
							</paragraph></subsection></section><section id="ID04d6224071c840e2970d7c7d41b25b3c"><enum>3.</enum><header>Transfer of
		  administrative jurisdiction to the forest service</header>
						<subsection id="IDf18cfaa4db80487eaf5c84e7a78cb5b5"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
		  general</header><text>Administrative jurisdiction over the Federal land
		  described in subsection (b) is transferred from the Secretary of the Interior
		  to the Secretary of Agriculture.</text>
						</subsection><subsection id="ID191e4531c117460083faf09566ee1a76"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Description of
		  land</header><text>The Federal land referred to in subsection (a) is the land
		  administered by the Director of the Bureau of Land Management in the Mount
		  Diablo Meridian, California, as generally depicted on the map entitled
		  <quote>Shasta-Trinity Administrative Jurisdiction Transfer: Transfer from BLM
		  to Forest Service, Map 2</quote> and dated November 23, 2009.</text>
						</subsection><subsection id="ID0b37f143d6874db9ac5f62253d04b757"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Management and status
		  of transferred land</header>
							<paragraph id="IDd08a181d212f46e0a6cbc6608993bd17"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
		  general</header><text>The Federal land described in subsection (b) shall
		  be—</text>
								<subparagraph id="ID79b59dfee01f4acfa5cfa444ea1b372a"><enum>(A)</enum><text>withdrawn from the public
		  domain;</text>
								</subparagraph><subparagraph id="ID32fdbdf8021642878739e104f03da344"><enum>(B)</enum><text>reserved for
		  administration as part of the Shasta-Trinity National Forest; and</text>
								</subparagraph><subparagraph id="IDf993d2191ae94005b5e7413b96347cfb"><enum>(C)</enum><text>managed in accordance
		  with the laws (including the regulations) generally applicable to the National
		  Forest System.</text>
								</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="ID1b3f7a71c5ec486e85b5129605c82c7a"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Wilderness
		  administration</header><text>The land transferred to the Secretary of
		  Agriculture under subsection (a) that is within the Trinity Alps Wilderness
		  shall—</text>
								<subparagraph id="IDd1e500031d8d4008b2aeb99c2dd77086"><enum>(A)</enum><text>not affect the wilderness
		  status of the transferred land; and</text>
								</subparagraph><subparagraph id="ID33440639a3784bbeb1c50d27c820d5de"><enum>(B)</enum><text>be administered in
		  accordance with—</text>
									<clause id="id7EB369AA5B35447CB5B61AA84E59AE9D"><enum>(i)</enum><text>this section;</text>
									</clause><clause id="id6171C4072C08422C8C807BE15C4C7E6E"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>the Wilderness Act (16
		  U.S.C. 1131 et seq.); and</text>
									</clause><clause id="idD4FC4EFC678B4DF28FFF39BD9FEF5CCD"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>the California
		  Wilderness Act of 1984 (16 U.S.C. 1132 note; Public Law 98–425).</text>
									</clause></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection></section><section id="ID20b2e2aa8fed4edea37bf17f0ddce6ef"><enum>4.</enum><header>Administrative
		  provisions</header>
						<subsection id="ID134d20104ab44ab4a59353aeb0542659"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Corrections</header>
							<paragraph id="ID3058669463de4e9f81ea68634cf61fa7"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Minor
		  adjustments</header><text>The Secretary of Agriculture and the Secretary of the
		  Interior may, by mutual agreement, make minor corrections and adjustments to
		  the transfers under this Act to facilitate land management, including
		  corrections and adjustments to any applicable surveys.</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="IDd18380e6cb1247f69b1988dfb40b640e"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Publications</header><text>Any
		  corrections or adjustments made under subsection (a) shall be effective on the
		  date of publication of a notice of the corrections or adjustments in the
		  Federal Register.</text>
							</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="ID5a80ae2d1276440da8c588f45a3a6d15"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Hazardous
		  substances</header>
							<paragraph id="ID8aeaba649268448896f81e9e05fa5fed"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Notice</header><text>The
		  Secretary of Agriculture and the Secretary of the Interior shall, with respect
		  to the land described in sections 2(b) and 3(b), respectively—</text>
								<subparagraph id="ID1be78aa20a424bf59511a00811ddff73"><enum>(A)</enum><text>identify any known sites
		  containing hazardous substances; and</text>
								</subparagraph><subparagraph id="IDb2e77d29561c4cf08ca86401f3c6e31f"><enum>(B)</enum><text>provide to the head of
		  the Federal agency to which the land is being transferred notice of any sites
		  identified under subparagraph (A).</text>
								</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="IDd4b1399450d84a5690371bc6875fbc01"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Cleanup
		  obligations</header><text>To the same extent as on the day before the date of
		  enactment of this Act, with respect to any Federal liability—</text>
								<subparagraph id="id880E52E09AC64B5994C42DCC686B7336"><enum>(A)</enum><text>the Secretary of
		  Agriculture shall remain responsible for any cleanup of hazardous substances on
		  the Federal land described in section 2(b); and</text>
								</subparagraph><subparagraph id="idBE1627081BA24093838828C4BD7DD3A8"><enum>(B)</enum><text>the Secretary of the
		  Interior shall remain responsible for any cleanup of hazardous substances on
		  the Federal land described in section 3(b).</text>
								</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="ID82d8eb19c14549e0a9526bb892bd38fe"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Effect on existing
		  rights and authorizations</header><text>Nothing in this Act affects—</text>
							<paragraph id="IDea1a0cc1591c4101b7213b28487edcc3"><enum>(1)</enum><text>any valid existing
		  rights; or</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="ID3da09f1d9ecf4108a07a79f3ef165b99"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the validity or term and
		  conditions of any existing withdrawal, right-of-way, easement, lease, license,
		  or permit on the land to which administrative jurisdiction is transferred under
		  this Act, except that beginning on the date of enactment of this Act, the head
		  of the agency to which administrative jurisdiction over the land is transferred
		  shall be responsible for administering the interests or authorizations
		  (including reissuing the interests or authorizations in accordance with
		  applicable law).</text>
							</paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></amendment-block></amendment></engrossed-amendment-body>
