		<section id="H73C1264DCD724F9588C55B057DA2F5D4" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Safe Schools, Healthy Kids Act of
			 2010</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H8A4D9E81F58D4658920161BFCCD88D41" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Grants for abatement,
			 removal, and interim controls of polychlorinated biphenyls in public school
			 facilities</header>
			<subsection id="HA6EEC0F90AB34F8DA3F4CFC8A7EF4AB3"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Grants
			 authorized</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of
			 Education is authorized to make grants to States and local educational agencies
			 for abatement, removal, and interim controls of polychlorinated biphenyls in
			 public school facilities, including, where applicable, early learning
			 facilities.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H94D6B0D59F9E45EE9CCFF78D469F5D02"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Application</header><text>To
			 be eligible to receive a grant under subsection (a), a State or local
			 educational agency shall submit to the Secretary an application at such time,
			 in such manner, and containing such information as the Secretary may
			 require.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HFFF51171CBB943B499F3DBB2A95617D5"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Community
			 notification</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A State or local
			 educational agency receiving a grant under subsection (a) shall be required to
			 provide notification to the students and their families, staff and school
			 employees, and other relevant parties in the community of the work to be
			 undertaken with the grant. The notification shall contain such additional
			 information as the Secretary shall require.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H702F697AED2E41EEA5EC3AA054D75F52"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Coordination
			 with Environmental Protection Agency</header><text>The Administrator of the
			 United States Environmental Protection Agency shall provide to the Secretary of
			 Education such guidance as may be necessary, including promulgating necessary
			 regulations, to ensure safe school conditions and effective abatement, removal,
			 or interim controls. Such guidance may be used by—</text>
				<paragraph id="H99AE2375D69F4F56AAC4049AD8DCE2C6"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the Secretary in
			 defining application and selection criteria;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H6EE13655486D45F788283881A489DA39"><enum>(2)</enum><text>State or local
			 educational agencies in developing work plans and applications for grants under
			 subsection (a); and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H60CC938110E84C9A93942D61785BC021"><enum>(3)</enum><text>State or local
			 educational agencies in carrying out the work after receiving a grant under
			 subsection (a).</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HAB1FB9D968894FAC8C76DAF693B1EE47"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Authorization of
			 appropriations</header><text>There are authorized to be appropriated to carry
			 out this Act $150,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2011 through 2015.</text>
