Short title

This Act may be cited as the Homebuyer Tax Credit Renewal Act of 2010.

One-year extension of first-time homebuyer credit

(a)

In general

Paragraph (1) of section 36(h) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is amended by inserting before the period at the end the following: , or during the 1-year period beginning on the date of the enactment of the Homebuyer Tax Credit Renewal Act of 2010. (b)

Effective date

The amendment made by this section shall apply to purchases on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.
