		<official-title>To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a
		  special resource study of the Medgar Evers House, located in Jackson,
		  Mississippi, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="H2D62EA4B18024A5DB33D48C02B4C15B9" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Medgar Evers House Study
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H99F7AA3722AD4C7D843E71867A99852B"><enum>2.</enum><header>Special resource
			 study</header>
			<subsection id="HDD157E0B785F447898BC213B426FCE69"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Study</header><text>The
			 Secretary of the Interior shall conduct a special resource study of the home of
			 the late civil rights activist Medgar Evers, located at 2332 Margaret Walker
			 Alexander Drive in Jackson, Mississippi.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H1A22D9FBE6B14879B5664155E3C8C76A"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Contents</header><text>In
			 conducting the study under subsection (a), the Secretary shall—</text>
				<paragraph id="HC70FFA1704444F1692EE3A30F347151F"><enum>(1)</enum><text>evaluate the
			 national significance of the site;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H06F72EC36AC94755ACE0A6283ABB7B37"><enum>(2)</enum><text>determine the
			 suitability and feasibility of designating the site as a unit of the National
			 Park System;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H992F3D4840F84D51B75C35EDBEB70BF4"><enum>(3)</enum><text>consider other
			 alternatives for preservation, protection, and interpretation of the site by
			 Federal, State, or local governmental entities, or private and nonprofit
			 organizations;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H7F2DECBC942E4191BF528942D1A425F5"><enum>(4)</enum><text>consult with
			 interested Federal, State, or local governmental entities, private and
			 nonprofit organizations or any other interested individuals; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H96C146618BAF41B399BACDD29F7CCE57"><enum>(5)</enum><text>identify cost
			 estimates for any Federal acquisition, development, interpretation, operation,
			 and maintenance associated with the alternatives.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HFE8B8E97B7784DD2AD0FBF0D50703F77"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Applicable
			 law</header><text>The study required under subsection (a) shall be conducted in
			 accordance with section 8 of National Park Service General Authorities Act (16
			 U.S.C. 1a–5).</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HA64F406A9A494692B092099A92A43AD0"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not
			 later than 3 years after the date on which funds are first made available for
			 the study under subsection (a), the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on
			 Natural Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy
			 and Natural Resources of the Senate a report containing the results of the
			 study and any conclusions and recommendations of the Secretary.</text>
